Sen. Ted Cruz, the runner-up to Donald Trump in the bruising 2016 Republican presidential primary, revealed Thursday that he wants to someday mount another White House campaign.
Look, I hope to run again, the Texas lawmaker told The Christian Science Monitor. We came very, very close in 2016. And its the most fun Ive ever had in my life."

I agree on Jim Jordan but what about Pompeo. Pompeo is a man of substance and integrity, a tough but fair & humble man. Very sharp & articulate as well. We could do much worse.
I think one can have an opinion but the Constitution, the writings of the Founders and the historical record does not agree with the position you espouse.
Then, that's how close Hillary was to being President because Ted no chance of winning Pennsylvania, Michigan or Wisconsin.
Trump still long lines waiting to here him speak. So, he has a passionate fan base.
Ted barely beat Beto in his last election.
Dodged a bullet.
Can't stand him.
About as solid as anyone in Congress. And young enough.
Worse, Cruz sounds like a crooked TV evangelist when he's campaigning.
No. That is an inaccurate position.
When a British citizen has a child on American soil that child is British. That is true for almost every Country. Children born to nationals of a country when the parents are outside of their native country are citizens of the native country at birth.
If you want to say that such an infant has a right to claim citizenship in the country of birth as well...you can claim that. It is not the law however, it is a recent custom which is deleterious to our Country. Also jus soli is not a universal process in other countries.
Almost all states in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania grant citizenship at birth based upon the principle of jus sanguinis (right of blood), in which citizenship is inherited through parents rather than birthplace, or a restricted version of jus soli in which citizenship by birthplace is automatic only for the children of certain immigrants.
President Trump has said that his government will address and rectify the confusion and unconstitutional granting of birthright citizenship to children of non-citizens.
The most such a child could be is in any case is a dual national. A dual national is not a native citizen. People conflate the terms citizen and natural born but unless one is attempting to force a point of view the papers and writings at the time our Country was founded make it clear why a distinction was made, to avoid a President having foreign loyalties & interests.
That is not true. A child born to parents that are naturalized citizens is a natural born citizen.
A child of citizens whether those citizens were citizens at birth or citizens through naturalization is natural born.
As a Canadian yes. as an American no.
the specific reason obama was ineligible, his father was a british subject
Come on, that’s silly. There are many much better candidates for 2024. We don’t need a flawed retread.
Pompeo
Jim Jordan
Devin Nunes
John Ratcliffe
We have another 406 years for any of these or several others to emerge as worthy of the responsibility. There are other individuals in POTUS cabinet who have the ability, drive & integrity.
Why? Cruz’s record in cases argued at the Supreme court was hardly stellar. Why does he have this kind of loyalty from you, based on what accomplishments?
He clearly knew he was not a natural born citizen having told college classmates as much, yet when it suited his ambition the Constitution went by the wayside.
It’s an interesting subject but unsavory. Was Obama really his father or was it Frank Marshall Davis? If Obama Sr then, as you say, Obama was a British citizen at birth and ineligible. Republicans were too timid to go there and the media managed an effective blackout on information and inquiry. Hopefully the Country has awakened.
sorry 4 years. not 406
AND THE SUPREMES REFUSED CASES
Nope. Take your lifetime judicial appointment and stop yammering.
Yes. Perhaps when we replace another 1 or 2 they will not refuse.
I don’t actually care about the “natural born” issue.
I think he would be a great constitutionalist and an originalist
