Loved his work but his was a life was talent and burned bridges, even to his own body. Now at 77 he wants to make amends, knowing he has limited time left. Goes on tour knowing he may not finish it. 8 stents, diabetes, new liver. Acknowledged he has no friends. We were all put on this earth to do something so he'll die soon making music. He hurt a lot of people but he did it his way. Glad he hit bottom and cleaned himself up in jail. It saved his life. Did he hurt people he didn't know like in a car crash while high? Don't think so. I'll give him that because these people didn't have to get involved with him. As Joe Bob would say check it out.
Will he sing or just rant against Trump?
He’s peddling a tour so no anti-Trump stuff for now. He’s repenting now so not speaking out is part of it. Like homosexuality we love the sinner but hate the sin. He tested us but you can’t take away his work and talents.
“Will he sing or just rant against Trump?”
Mostly rant against Trump I’d wager. The anatomy of a liberal, self absorbed, misguided, and miserable.
In '84, someone had the brilliant idea to book Judy Collins and David Crosby, which a moderately aware person might have thought would not exactly be appealing to a military crowd. The show was cancelled for lack of support -- rumor had it they only sold seven tickets.
...but he did it his way...
It hit me a couple of years ago, when discussing the four Gospels that each writer put his own interpretation and “stamp” on it. i.e. each one, though led of God, did it his own way.
Every human being does it “my way”, some led of God, and others not. And that is the way it should be. I like that song a lot more now. :)
Life without the David Crosbys would be “easy you know the way it’s supposed to be”.

David should ask Jane Fonda to join him...they both did it “their way”...
Repent? You can have him....and Jane.
Frank was always a tad embarrassed about singing such a vainglorious song as "My Way". However, he know he would have a smash hit with it, which is why re recorded it. I saw him live in concert here in Houston in the mid 70's, and he was closing all his shows with "My Way". Once he had the smash hit with "New York, New York", he dropped "My Way" and started closing his shows with "New York, New York". When I saw him live again in the early 80's, there was no "My Way".
There is no redeeming that song. So awful. (coming from a Sinatra fan) Lyrics were written by Paul Anka.
Yeah, I’m a huge Sinatra fan, but “My Way” is fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
I just looked up the lyrics. The only ones I “could” take issue with are these:
Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
But again, I’d have to know what the person who penned the words meant before I could come down on them. The problem with pop music is that it tries to communicate volumes in a few verses and a chorus, and maybe a bridge.
There is a lot of opportunity for people to miss the point.
It’s fun to watch this clip from the Dick Cavett show made just after Woodstock when they were all “kids”. Grace is now a painter and seems to have survived pretty well. Joni is still alive although having smoked herself nearly to death has had to give up performing. Steven Stills is rocking with the “Voices from the Canyon” rocumentary, playing one of his old songs with Clapton and Dylan’s kid. And there’s David Crosby in his fringe, making you wonder if he regrets not having made better choices since then:

Fun fact....
“My Way” was a song written by a Frenchman and, IIRC, a minor hit in Europe.
However, Paul Anka (Frank’s friend) liked the music, bought the song and rewrote the lyrics as a homage to Frank.
The rest is history...
He recently asked Trump supporters to not attend his show. Works for me.
Anyone remember?
Ironically, Joni Mitchell never attended Woodstock (the festival) but wrote the song, “Woodstock”.
She has recorded various versions - the original was a slow, haunting recording. The second was a jazzier version with the LA Express on her “Miles of Aisles” live album. The third was on her “Shadows and Light”, another live album featuring Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius and Lyle Mays.
Im interested in seeing it. The rock-and-roll sixties seventies are filled with outlandish self-destructive and toxic personalities. Perhaps they all had a secret wish to die before getting old, and indeed many did. For those that made it through, they now have time to reflect and I would bet there are many many regrets. David Crosby had a heckuva run. The Byrds and CSNY are a career right there. Somehow and some-why he has survived....
Wait until you hear the Sid Vicious version, (featured in the closing credits of 'Goodfellas')
saw them play together at Lenox MA in the early 80's, a classic.
