“Now with Tint Control!”
It means that it gathers more information on you than ever before, comrade citizen.
Thus I only buy phones with removable batteries.
I should probably keep mine in a faraday cage just to make sure.

My phone needs are very basic. I’ll spend less than $200. on an LG K40 phone, and be happy with that. I don’t play games on it. I’m not on Facebk/Twitter or Instagram.
This is replacing another LG phone.
One of my few complaints is the size of the new phone. I wish the LG K40 were smaller and lighter. Big ones barely fit into one’s pocket w/o weighing down your pants.
Oh well. I do like that it holds a charge for many hours. My last phone became ‘incontinent’.
All the power would run right through it. Thus requiring several charges each day.
I can’t, for the life of me, see the attraction.
I’m going to an iPhone this time around because my car has Apple CarPlay. Hopefully with the release of this new one I can get a deal on last year’s model, which suits my needs fine.
Some apps actually do need significant processing speed, memory, and/or specialized hardware support.
We last bought 2 Samsung j3 orbits @ $100.00 each. Have replaceable batteries. Came with Android 8 and have been upgraded to Android 9.0. Very satisfied with these basic smart phones.
I love my iPhone 6 plus. Had it for 3 years.
If it ever breaks - I’ll go buy another one, No way will I pay $600 - $800 - $1,000 and more for a iPhone.
How long is it supported? I’d hope for at least 5 years - as it is the price of a decent laptop.
Quite seriously, we are happy with our current phones. Unless they spike the OS again we dont have any compelling need to burn $4,000 on new phones for the family.
The pace of innovation in smart phones has really slowed to a crawl. It’s understandable, this is a mature technology - but I still have to believe Steve Jobs would not have been willing to get on stage to pretend these small incremental changes from last year were worth stopping traffic on Tantau Ave. There was a while there where Apple led the way in consumer electronics innovation - those days seem to be over.
Looks like most of the upgrades are with the camera.
Yawn.
When my iPhone assumes Obama IQ, methinks that’s it for Apple and I.
Apple’s innovation is asymptotically approaching zero.
the porn is actually more powerful
What does it mean for a smart phone to be “more powerful”? Makes for a better viewing experience of cat videos or porn?
Even better. Now you can get high def videos of cat porn
The colors are the top feature after the screen size? Heck, you can’t even tell the color since you have to use a case to prevent the screen from breaking at the slightest sneeze.
Id rather update my iPad instead of my phone. I dont talk that much on my phone, mostly text, bit I use my iPad all the time
I have a Motorola Z-Play. Large screen, goo processor, exceptional battery life. Motorola quality radio so calls are great. Bluetooth works well. Excellent camera.
Retail new $400. Today $175.
I can’t possibly justify a $1,000 phone when desktop, laptop, and tablet computers don’t cost that much.
