Frankly I'd have been more surprised if it didn't.

These sorts of events remind me of the Calm in Japan after that devastating Tsunami. None of this sort of thing went on. They seem to be oddly honorable over there. It’s a cultural thing.

One of my unarmed neighbors knows I prep: water, food, guns, etc. He says to me, if the sh*t hits the fan, I’ll be over. I says, oh no you won’t. I’ll be over to take your stuff.
To his credit, he armed himself after our talk.

This is why many people don't evacuate during a hurricane. They are afraid people will steal their stuff.

TADSLOS :" The thin veneer of civilization stripped away."
What wasn't blown away by the wind,
was swept away by flooding and storm surge.
Fox news just reported 30 known dead, and numbers still rising.
Wooden structures just collapsed or blown away.
Concrete structures without rebar, just toppled over.
Now we will see the cultural construct of neighbors offering assistance.

Hmmm....I WONDER what forces permit this... If we simply pour enough money into Baltimore, granted A LOT more, they, too, could to this, right?

You can replace your STUFF. You can not replace your LIFE or the LIVES of your CHILDREN.
People are hungry, thirsty and have NO shelter.
The lkedarship of the Bahamas needs to declare Martial Law if they have not already.

They seem to be oddly honorable over there. Its a cultural thing.I remember reading a story about some band (their name escapes me) that played in an arena in Japan. Prior to letting the crowds in, they put tambourines on all the seats so they could jam with the band throughout the show.
Thinking that the crowd understood (without actually saying it) that they could keep them. After the show & everyone left...every seat had a tambourine on it.

“These sorts of events remind me of the Calm in Japan after that devastating Tsunami. None of this sort of thing went on. They seem to be oddly honorable over there. Its a cultural thing.” Japanese have a great culture but I think what is truly behind the phenomenon is that they are one people, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically, and have been for 2000 years and therefore have a higher level of trust in others.
