How to Exercise When You’re in Ketosis
Perfect Keto ^ | September 15, 2018 | Dr. Anthony Gustin, DC, MS

Since going keto means greatly reducing carbs, and since carbs are the body’s primary source of fuel, you might be wondering what your options are when it comes to how to exercise while in ketosis.

The good news is that while there are some things to keep in mind, exercise is totally possible on the ketogenic diet and even has some big benefits health- and energy-wise. These are important to know when wading through any misconceptions or poorly-understood topics around low carb eating and working out such as how to build muscle on keto or how many carbs you can actually eat on keto when you exercise often.

Please do add me to this group!

I’ve been low carb since 2001, and Keto on & off since 2015. I exercise several times a week (depending on how busy my kids keep me), and I’ve run a full marathon completely fasted. This is a fantastic lifestyle for health & wellness (as you know)!

I’ve been low carb/keto for most of the last 13 years. I run 25-30 miles a week - mostly fasted - with no issues with fatigue.

I didn’t know there was a keto group but please add me to the ping list.

Your liver will synthesize all the glycogen your body needs. Not ideal for growth however.

Please add me to your low-carb group. I have been on keto for just over a month and have dropped from 128 kg to 121.5 as of last Saturday. I’m having a bit of a rough spot now because of diverticulitis, but not willing to quit yet.
