Video inside a house with the water rising and wind screaming.
Shouldn’t he have boarded up his windows? I’m surprised they’re not broken.
He said he had hurricane windows. I think it is the same guy.
Talk to Dorothy Gibson, I think she may have some ideas along those lines.
Ok. Didn’t know.
He said something about the windows not having been sealed as they should have been.
I’ve been worried about him; but he seemed very calm throughout, so maybe he has upper levels in the house - as long as the stilt structure holds out.
I would be shocked if these people survive.
We could be looking at thousands dying on this archipelago.
It’s not necessary to be mean.
Yes, it’s horrifying to watch. Even people who live in a place as prone to hurricanes as they are seem to be shocked at the violence of this one.
A lot of us don’t know about things because we just haven’t had reason to keep up with them.
The other day my brother showed me a video of a young guitar player - an acoustic guitar, but obviously electrified. I couldn’t see a pickup, and my brother had to explain that it was inside, and the whole thing was wireless.
I thought: God, I’m old. A lot of us didn’t even dream of this stuff when I was young and hooking things up to amps and speakers.
Eton, formerly known as Grundig, iirc.
Straight from the US Coast Guard: they have 3 helos in Marsh Harbour, 2 US Coast Guard ships in Marah Harbour, and various Bahamian authority vessels en route. To be rescued please call 1(305)415-6800. SPREAD THIS PLEASE!.
At least 5 dead in marsh Harbour.
I scrolled down far enough to find a picture of “calm before the storm” (”tomorrow we will meet Hurricane Dorian”), and then back up to the storm vids.
Jarring stuff, indeed...
