Today’s Cryptogram

Today’s Cryptogram

ZMD BDEADZ PL VDZZHRV GMDGO HB VDZZHRV BZGAZDO. –BPSAED SRJRPKR

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

THE IN THING NOW IS TO SCROLL DOWN TO MAGNUM44’S “HELPFUL HINT” BEFORE YOU SOLVE THE PUZZLE.

Today’s puzzle is from the Arkansas Gazette.

That was quick! Yes, that author is getting pretty prolific these days around here...

Will interesting to see what Magnum44 comes up with on a “hint” for this one...

Never heard of the author, either, but whomever it is, is indeed prolific.

Indeed. I searched “ VDZZHRV G MDGO” and got some disturbing and less than helpful images.

Happy Labor Day. It’s BONUS puzzle time!!😝

Yes, it’s BONUS time once again. That laughable time when you get to solve a humorous quote from a classic funny movie, comedian, or entertainer. The trick is, unlike nikos puzzle where you don’t want to post spoilers, with the BONUS puzzle it’s a race for first solution posted, BUT you don’t post the solution directly, You post a funny pic ,gif, or meme that shows you solved it. First pic or gif wins the prize with full bragging rights. Honorable mentions for all original pic or gif posts.

I’ve got stacks of honorable mention awards laying about, so just because someone solves the quote first doesn’t mean you cant contribute to the fun.

Don’t get wrapped up in how easy or hard it is. Just solve it and post something funny and share the fun.

Today’s puzzle should be fun and easy. No knowledge of foreign language skills required. Be creative with your replies 😝

Here it is (with anticipation and drum roll). Ready, set, solve:

JEGFG RX U JROG JZ AUQSE UPT U JROG PZJ JZ AUQSE, UPT JERX RX PZJ ZPG ZY JEGO. - RPXHGBJZF LUBMQGX BAZQXGUQ

If my memory serves, we’ve seen todays cryptogram before. I think it claims a few potential authors including Mark Twain.

Hope you enjoyed your ‘break’ yesterday. 😆

About two minutes today. I got a couple of the small words and the author came to me and I was off.

I wasn’t looking to win. I solved it and posted a “clew” without looking.
