As the USC Trojans walked through the peristyle entrance of the newly remodeled Coliseum on Saturday, they followed Clay Helton down the concrete steps toward the field, passing six oversized USC jerseys displayed on each side of the staircase recognizing the schools six Heisman Trophy winners.
[snip]
The display did not include Reggie Bushs No. 5 after Bush forfeited the trophy and the Heisman Trust vacated his award in 2010 following an NCAA investigation that revealed he received improper benefits while in school.

While Bushs name and number have been scrubbed away at USC, O.J. Simpsons No. 32 jersey was prominently displayed along with USCs other Heisman winners. Walk through the new Scholarship Tower built as part of the Coliseums $315-million renovation and theres also a picture of Simpson, who won the 1968 Heisman, in a portrait recognizing USCs national award winners.

The USC Football members have to take “Safe Knife, Glove Fitting and Bronco Driving” classes, ya know.
Given the level of violence that illegal aliens seem to bring with them when they settle into an area, OJ Simpson could be considered a role model for the new, fastest rising demographic in Southern California.
Are they going for the homicidal maniac football fan demographic?
Hey he was acquitted and a free man today and no doubt back on the hunt for the real killers. What’s not to love? /sarc
Yet they keep Erasing history throughout the US by tearing down statues and changing school names.
Technically, he was found “not guilty” in the criminal trial but guilty in the civil “wrongful death” trial where the bar is set much lower for conviction. O.J.’s bust is still on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame as well.
Rightly or wrongly, Simpson was found not guilty by a jury of his peers. I do not believe his Heisman Trophy was vacated or revoked. Erasing him from USC history is not so different from what is going on with what the left is doing with other parts of history.
As to USC’s neighborhood. In the 60s it was predominately black. Is it still or have they been pushed out with our newer diversity?
He doesn’t exist any longer for the Buffalo Bills and their team PR. OJ has disappeared down the memory hole.
The Heisman recognizes his achievements in the football field decades before he committed murder.
I’m reminded of King George V’s comment that if a Victoria Cross winner was condemned to death, he should be permitted to wear his VC on the gallows...
Many black folks live and work in that area but that area has been gentrified quite a bit from what it was like in the 1960s its not great but not that bad. Further south it gets sketchy - down Vermont and Western until Hawthorne
i don’t think his Heisman should be revoked. He got that award b4 he got found not guilty of murder.
Haha.
I’m not a big fan of erasing history. Once you start, where does it end?
The juice’s bust is still in the Hall of Fame and will continue to be there. Rewriting history is a favorite preoccupation with the socialist left... But O. J. Simpson ran like a SOB and deserves to recognized for his athletic feats... That being said, I doubt that a whole lot of people would invite him to dinner.
that’s true. and besides his trophy /the murder and trial have zero to do with each other.
I can see if he was up for an award when he got arrested, if they wanted to re think that. But otherwise, he earned that trophy. Just my Humble opine.
I’m not buying or selling, but I have to say I’m surprised by the responses.
There is history to be preserved which I agree with.
What is the level of post greatness crime required to be erased?
Like what if Jeffery Dalmer, Son of Sam, The night stalker, etc... were enshrined somewhere for a high school or college athletic achievement?
Keep them on the mantle?
LOL!
He was found NOT GUILTY, by a jury of his piers.
In a civil court, he was found Guilty, based on a preponderance of evidence, to date the Goldman Family had not gotten a cent from him, nor do I think they should.
Anyone who studied this case, really listened to the interviews, read the books by experts following the case all contend, he knew who it was, but it was not him.
Regardless, he was found innocent.
Believe what you will, I contend that once found innocent of the murder, no further action against him should occur.
