Staring down the barrel of a semi-automatic rifle wasn't enough to spook a cigarette-puffing St. Louis man into giving up his valuables early Wednesday morning when an armed robber came into a local bar demanding money.
Bartender Dustin Krueger was serving six customers around 12.30am Wednesday at Behrmann's Tavern on Maramec Street near S. Compton Avenue on the city's south side when the unidentified gunman stormed in wielding a huge, military-style gun.
Soundless surveillance video of the incident shows most of the bar patrons quickly raising their hands and sprawling on the floor as the thief made his way through the room.
But one anonymous bar customer wasn't having it.

My son pulled off some miraculous recovery of data that no one else in the company could figure out how to do and was given that wallet by his boss for the effort.
Had this been in Brazil the robber would have been shot by everyone in the bar.

Any use of a firearm in the commission of a crime should get the death penalty.

The real news story is that people are still allowed to smoke in bars in St. Louis...
Taking a rifle away from someone at close range is actually easier than taking a handgun. But the bar was in the way. He had limited options even if trained.
I think the real headline should read.
“Alcohol makes man think he is bulletproof.”
Agree. It does get an enhanced hard time (not time off for good behavior) sentence in most states (maybe all) and federal.
Note: after reviewing the video, the patron could have disarmed the bad guy at the start if properly trained. So I have to give you props for your comment.
The guy is likely to get into trouble for smoking indoors. Hard to see anything else wrong with that clip.
Cause it's bad for you.
The best reaction is start picking your nose then try to hand him your phone and wallet.
looks like a HiPoint 9mm
It is a Hi-Point carbine (9mm or .40 cal or 45ACp). Dirt cheap and very ugly and extremely reliable. Hi-Point stocks are very distinctive. There is a part of the video where you see a side view of the carbine.
Years ago a gun magazine (I don't remember which) did a comparison between 9mm carbines and they threw in a Hi-Point for giggles. The Hi-Point came in first. .
Must have told the robber he was running a tab......
