Ryan Russell has played in the NFL for three seasons, but when he suits up and takes the field for his next gameday he will be the first man to play in a regular season game who identifies as bisexual.
Russell, currently a free agent, was drafted by the Cowboys in 2015 after playing college football at Purdue. He played one year at the Cowboys and then two years at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but no one knew who the defensive end really was.
Russell told ESPN that he hid his sexual identity during the first three years of his career. He said he had a fear that it could be the end of his career if he was honest about being bisexual.
"I rationalized my fear because it was easy to convince myself that hiding who I was made the most sense. The competition is so stiff to stay in the league, that any small mark can lead a front office to choose another guy for your job," Russell told ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz.

Any free agent at this time of the season is not NFL quality.

I mean the degree to which it has affected the AAU basketball feeder teams to college and the NBA, example.

Why do we need to know this?

If he’s bi, then he’s more likely to have a loose end.
Switches back and forth between quarterback and wide receiver, but likely no longer a tight end.
Started out as a tight end. Now he’s a wide receiver.
It would be the ideal situation for everyone. He gets to play football without ever hearing The Star-Spangled Banner again, and we never have to see his ugly face again.
Just in case kneeling didn’t turn away the entire sensible half of the country, they want to get this into the discussion of NFL sports too. I remember when people watched sports for a break from politics and real-world issues.
A friend was in medical school. He was an intern in an emergency room and told of strange objects lodged in men’s rectums. He also mention a common procedure to take in loose ends a few stitches and they’re good as new!

He’s not bisexual any more. No woman will kiss a man who put’s male private parts in his mouth. Not one with any sense that is.
