Todays Cryptogram
MT TMO VWM KO UT QOJVTFO W SGOUR RPWR PO QXJJ MTR WMMTZ PXU PTUR WHROL RPLOO AWZU. ---NJWGRGU
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Todays puzzle is from the Arkansas Gazette.
Solution to our last puzzle:
YOU ARE HERE TO ENRICH THE WORLD, AND YOU IMPOVERISH YOURSELF IF YOU FORGET THE ERRAND. ---WOODROW WILSON
True then, true today. :)
Wow, that was quick. I guess you found it pretty easy....
Yes, true then, and true today.
Will be interesting to see what Magnum44 throws out for a clue today.
Timeless advice, two minutes to solve.
2 1/2 min. Just keep plugging at the small words.
I think he could have put it a little differently don’t you think?
Good one!
Nice one. Not easy, not hard.
Didn’t Franklin say something similar about fish?
The Greeks must have ALL been lawyers...OR Politicians.
What a ‘normal’ person can say in a couple of words takes them many and still one has to look for the ‘sense’ to be made...
Fish too......
Wow, I never heard of him! I’m learning so much from these threads!
Pretty difficult.
My college roommate came to visit and was “OK” for the first week or so. Then she REALLY got on our nerves. After 2 weeks, she FINALLY left. At one point she said, “You said if I came to visit, you would spoil me” We never said that!
One of the better CGs. Just think, the people living 2000 years ago, experienced the same thing when their relatives showed up to over stay their welcome.
2 weeks? Seriously?
I love it, when I see these single doting Moms with their son. The kid can’t sneeze without them running for a tissue.
They dread him someday leaving for school....then finally the day arrives, and he ships out for college...
Invariably, Mom is finally alone, and gets used to her privacy. Son comes home to dump off his laundry....AND SHE COUNTING THE HOURS AND MINUTES UNTIL HE LEAVES. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
I’ve heard this story now so often that I know it’s universal.
I think I’m enjoying Magnum44’s hints more than I do the puzzle.
"Aaah, Jupiter blast it! It's your deadbeat brother again!!"
