An Ohio homeowner shot dead two teenage boys who he say were 'trespassing' on his property on Wednesday night.
The homeowner has not been named but is being questioned.
He told police that on Wednesday at 9.30pm, he shot the two boys in his 'garage'. He called 911 afterwards.
The boys have been identified as 17-year-olds Devon Henderson and Javier Harrison. It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was.
When the homeowner called 911, he told the operator: 'I shot two guys. I shot two persons tried to rob to do something in my house.'
Dayton Daily News, a local outlet, says one of the teenagers' father's believed they knew the shooter and had been in the garage before.

It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was. It never ceases to amaze me how the same media that can’t hazard an educated evaluation of what these two perps were up to or figure the motive of someone yelling Alahu Akbar while stabbing multiple innocents but can positively see racism in everything President Trump says or does.
Javier's father Jimmy said he should not have fired his weapon because the teens were in his garage and not his house.
'It wasnt in your house, it was in your garage.
'Thats like 10 feet away from your house, you know so that means youre seeing some perps out there at your garage, you know, so my first instinct is to call the police,' he said.
This father is correct. Killing someone who is in your garage (unattached from the house no less), and who isn't directly endangering your life, is not justified.
“No threat to the shooters life. The shooter is going to jail, and I think thats as it should be.”
Maybe they attacked the homeowner when he caught them in the garage? Not much info in the story. The police are still interviewing the home owner.
One of the boys was nicknamed “Toad”. He was trying to get the Gran Torino.
And probably won’t be repeat offenders.
THAT assessment depends on the lighting. A lot.
Certainly an important element, also was this a break in or were they walking in thru an open garage door - need more facts.
Correct, all property is now public community property and access cannot be denied to the public.
This guy needs a lawyer and should keep his mouth shut, except to say, “call my lawyer”.
Almost anything he says at this point will be bad for him. He should just let his lawyer do the talking.
“Not much info in the story. The police are still interviewing the home owner.”
Point taken. I guess we’ll see.
They had already broken into his house if it was an attached garage.
I have to agree. Arrest yes, maybe jail time. But jeez.
” Killing someone who is in your garage (unattached from the house no less), and who isn’t directly endangering your life, is not justified. “
Doesn’t Texas have a law that justifies that? I would’t think Ohio would.
I don’t believe I have enough info from the story to know if it was a bad shoot or not.
It looks like abandoned property. The house is boarded up. The homeowner did not say they were threatening his safety. Seems like this is shoot first and ask questions later. As a teenager I occasionally found myself snooping around abandoned property. This is a terrible price to pay for curiosity.
To charge them the prosecution would have to show that the shooter did not use deadly in self-defense, defense of his residence, or to protect the life or safety of another. They may be able to show that in this case.
Oh, OK. I just go take your crap then.
Don’t you dare resist or your going to jail, bitch.
How does the homeowner know that the intruders aren’t setting an explosive device or going to come out of there with AK47’s and storm into the house? They’re trespassing and they’re not in view in a city (Dayton) that’s on edge.
I'll leave open the possibility that the homeowner set them up, telling them to go ahead and collect up those cans at their convenience, no need to knock.
Only partially joking. I mention it because news reports are never to be trusted at face value. I try not to forget that by thinking up scenarios that could flip a story completely around, just in case.
