An Ohio homeowner shot dead two teenage boys who he say were 'trespassing' on his property on Wednesday night.

The homeowner has not been named but is being questioned.

He told police that on Wednesday at 9.30pm, he shot the two boys in his 'garage'. He called 911 afterwards.

The boys have been identified as 17-year-olds Devon Henderson and Javier Harrison. It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was.

When the homeowner called 911, he told the operator: 'I shot two guys. I shot two persons tried to rob… to do something in my house.'

Dayton Daily News, a local outlet, says one of the teenagers' father's believed they knew the shooter and had been in the garage before.

“Father” should have done more than “speaking out” after his poorly raised son was dead.

Where was he years before? Teachin his kid how to be black?

Thank you. Some details were conveniently omitted. In my opinion this point in time his that the boys were Black. He may well be Black also. I haven't heard nor seen. Perhaps you have. If he is White, he probably will have to deal with the race hustlers.

I’m not arguing for or against the shooter, but I am wondering about this person, There’s a lot of food for thought on this thread. Who was the shooter? He’s not identified in any way, other than as the homeowner. Was he new as a homeowner to this property? Was he familiar with the deceased? Is he a young person or an older person? I have a lot of questions. They aren’t answered clearly in any of the articles I’ve read. That is why this is one for the courts, in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with skin color.

Sometimes “white” teens smoke dope and hang out where they shouldn’t, too.

I don’t know about Ohio, but most have a felony murder law. Which is that if any commits a felony crime and someone is killed because of the commission of that crime, whether it was an innocent bystander or one of the perps, the survivor could be charged with murder. Because the actions of the perp brought the events which caused their deaths together. How it will play out in this case, I am not sure.

Agreed - this is one for the courts. We have so little information right now.

Also, wondering how much a language barrier might be a factor in this case. His 911 call is online, and the homeowner has a heavy accent. The 911 dispatcher had a hard time understanding what he was saying.

Just for being there...careful where u try that defense for murder or manslaughter

You have obviously never been to a hunting club in Mississippi

10,000 acres no trespassing everywhere

I can assure you nobody just kills anyone trespassing

That’s crazy man

I’ve got acreage where I live...I don’t shoot folks I don’t know on my land

That reminds me of last year when the little guy with his gun who had a habit of confronting folks who took handicapped parking without a sticker confronted a black woman who’d park in the blue spot and whose husband or baby daddy came out and confronted instigator and pushed him down

While down instigator pulled weapon and killed black man who was no longer pushing him or moving towards him in front of the soon to be dead man’s nine year old son

They were looking at prosecuting him....don’t know if they did

It all reminds me of what a friend of mine who’d been in Vietnam later was a private security contractor overseas told me

A little scared guy with a gun will shoot you quicker than anyone ....if he looks scared don’t confront further

I had an employee who did my deposits....nervous and was five seven and maybe 130.

Carrot a 9mm 92SB I bought him and I used to warn him don’t shoot someone with my gun unless you really need to please...lol...

For the record I grew up in an era when men were men ans looked like we had ample testosterone with jaws and brows and chin and strong daily need for sex drives...and we fought...and when we got beat down....it was bad form to take your gun and kill your better for it

Yes it would make a difference to me if indeed they menaced him or more historical background

It looks like a horrid neighborhood

His house windows all boarded up

I’d say more info is warranted

I’m just amused by freeper bloodlust often from folks with no experience with wet work

I’m no recon ranger for clarity

Of course not. Everyone should absolutely exercise compassion, common sense, and prudence. The point is, the right “if needed” should go without question on private property. None of this “but it wasn’t inside the house” stuff. This socialist mentality that everything is public property with unrestricted public access would stop.

I have acreage with a LOT of trespassing happening and have never shot anyone. But 5 times I had to brandish as a deterrent over the years, which is a crime it’s self even on private property in most places. I feel that I should have the right to pull the trigger if I had to without being the one in the wrong.

From the accent on the 911 audio, he appears to be Hispanic.

They did. I believe he tried to use the "My life was in danger" defense. The State of Florida has a self defense law since they went from Common Law to Statute Law. It is now "My life was in danger". It is better than nothing, but I do not believe it is as broad as the self defense under the Common Law. And a lot of people learned that the hard way. After the jury verdict,"We find the Defendant guilty as charged" verdict came back. Back to the guy we were talking about. He was found guilty of manslaughter. And, oh yes, A scared person will kill you or hurt you in a hurry. You can ask James Vinson that. They were at a bar out in the country. James had already whipped him a couple of times. Close to closing time, James decided he wanted to whip him again as the guy was leaving. James followed him to his truck and told him that he was going to whip his ass again just for the hell of it. The guy told James, leave me alone. You have already beat me up two times. I am scared of you. I have a gun in my truck. If you mess with me again, I will shoot you. James messed with him and he shot him. With a .45. The Deputy Sheriff came out. Listened to the witnesses, because back then, if there was a bar fight, everyone in the bar except the barmaid came out to watch. And told the guy to go home. He did not even take his gun. The Grand Jury refused to indict. Everyone in a position of authority agreed that it was self defense or justifiable homicide. That was back in the early 60s.

Hopefully it is not George Zimmerman all over again.

I think I got my leg pulled, PapaBear. It was my fault for believing the media. I will be more careful next time.

Before I forget it, thanks for the info.

“Note how quickly they get personal here over this if you disagree”

Yeah, I’m not surprised. I own a gun, and pray I never have to shoot someone. I get the feeling some here are just hoping they get to shoot someone.

I figured I catch a lot of flak. No worries.

Yeh, I don’t see things like a lot of people on this site. You can’t blow someone away for hunting or picknicking or whatever on your land.

He should have called the police. It is different with a burglary or certainly a robbery or rape where you have reason to fear for your safety.

It will probably be two counts of manslaughter.

I want to say its a bad shoot but everyone has to make their own choices. If the shooter is not in jail there must be a reason.
