here is no doubt that Jim Comey was part of a conspiracy to destroy Donald Trump and his Presidency. But all the evidence is not yet on the record. There is some understandable frustration reverberating around the web that Comey is not being indicted in the wake of the latest Inspector General report detailing Jim Comey’s inappropriate and unethical handling of Government material. But that is not the role of the Inspector General. It is up to DOJ to prosecute and a careful reading of the current report makes clear that there was not adequate foundation to get an indictment and prosecute.
However, ff you believe that Jim Comey is getting a pass and will get away with corrupt activity, let me suggest you are overreacting and that patience is warranted. Comey is not out of the woods.
My only previous experience with Bill Barr was the role he played in making sure that the two guys who planted the bomb on Pan Am 103 were prosecuted. Barr was a straight shooter and would not cut corners. I also am friends with a person who worked directly for him during that period. That person insists that Barr is not going to let Comey and Brennan and Clapper off the hook. But that person also has reminded me that Barr will do it by the book and do it fairly.
With that predicate, I want you to focus on the core of today’s Inspector General report. It is very simple and concise:

I think DOJ did the right thing in not trying to prosecute Comey over the memo’s he drafted. It is a nuanced process crime and would be tough to present to a jury.
That’s been pretty much my opinion for at least the last month or two. The Comey Defense would be very simple and successful: Nothing classified, this is Washington D.C. where everyone leaks. Leaks are as common as dirt.
Fortunately Barr is smart enough to pick his battles. This one was a loser.

What law did Comey break, in this particular case involving his stupid self-directed memos?
It’s an abuse of power and a bad example as the report stated but we knew in advance of its release that a decision was made not to indict on these limited grounds.
The Big Show is the FISA report and how they will try to weasel their way out of that which is reportedly devastating.
Meanwhile, President Trump is replacing the head of DNI which is withholding many documents showing what’s been up with SpyGate all along.
The war between President Trump vs. the Deep State (and Obamunists) continues apace.

I just finished reading the entire 83 page OIG report.
My conclusion:
If Comey was that unprofessional about a few memos regarding his contacts with Trump, what about his work on other stuff during his tenure as FBI Director?
This OIG Report is only the ‘tip of the iceberg’ regarding the massive collusion/conspiracy within the Intelligence Community.

comey stated as fact in front of congress and live TV that he specifically released the memos to initiate a SC appointment. Where was that mentioned in the IG report?
Jim Hoft and GP are the right’s equivalent to Rachel Maddow and MSNBC.
Begin getting ready to face the facts now. In 3-5 weeks or 3-5 years for that matter, all that will come out is another excuse why they won’t be prosecuted.

Comey’s best defense would be that the information in those memos was fabricated bullsh!t. You can’t be prosecuted for leaking classified information if the information you leak isn’t true.

Bullspit. They don’t have to prove intent to get a conviction on these type of “mishandling” violations, they only have to demonstrate that it happened, and they can very well do that. Comey basically confessed to it all publicly.
