Buttigieg's attempts to rally religious voters may not sway evangelicals
Washington Examiner ^ | 08-25-19 | Jeffrey Cimmino

South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg may have an uphill battle drawing some Iowa voters to his blend of progressive politics and religion. Buttigieg "comes off as a great guy," said Bob Vander Plaats, president of conservative Iowa Christian organization The Family Leader, but "his policies don't align with where we believe Scripture is and where we believe the faith is at and what's in the best interest of our country." "If the policies don’t line up, I think Iowans — and more than that Americans who are evangelical — are wise enough to see through that," Vander Plaats told the Washington Examiner.

Thank you. We do not have sexual decency on our side. Trump is worse than I had thought in 2016 and voting for him is not a vote for a morally decent man. I think his treatment of women was similar to that of a rapper.

Two thoughts came to mind as I read this. The first is that Trump's "grab them" was at the same level as GHWB's "David Cop-a-feel," with the adultery-in-office going back to at least Harding, with very few not philandering in office (Coolidge, Carter, Reagan, perhaps GWB).

The second is that I suspect Trump has changed in office, and almost certainly has not been or acted sexually dissolute. It may be because of his growth as a Christian, or because of age, or Melania, or knowing that every act and word or his is fodder for the Swamp and the Left, or any combination of the above.

3. Romans 1:26 “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural.”

4. Romans 1:27 “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

You’re kidding, right?

GHWB probably was not in control of his inhibitions. Infirm and old probably some degree of dementia. I spend a lot of time with people with Alzheimer’s and they no longer have filters. It is not their fault. And I can’t stand poppy bush but I will give him that. It’s his caregiver’s fault to let him get close enough to people. He was no longer of mind to be able to behave.

Trump surrounded himself with beautiful women and also imported them under suspicious visas, for his fashion shows. The recent video of him walking through the women and patting their butts like objects made me sick. He had something so filthy to say that he went right to Jeffrey Epstein to whisper the joke into his ear and gesture to the girls. Mr global Pedo doubled over in laughter. Trump may be a good president but he is not a decent man where women are concerned. That he may be too old or pulled himself back as president doesn’t change my newer opinion of him as actually worse than just a playboy.

He wants to sway “faith-based” people based on the fact that he goes to church and talks it up? Most of the candidates go to church, or claim to. He’s an Episcopalian, and the way the Episcopal Church has turned out, that just barely counts as going to church.

Indeed, for it barely counts as a church, if that.

Romans 1:18-32 is not about homosexuality but about willfully departing from the knowledge of the Lord. Simply, by the time people can arrive at the point that homosexuality can be approved of, as clear as prohibitions in Scripture are against that, they will have already compromised away the truth.

Romans 1:18-32 is about progressive spiritual, and hence moral, degeneration, even to perverting Gn. 2:24. HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONS and the BIBLE

And the homosexual agenda is about the selfish malevolent laying murderous devil seeking dominion and glory for himself, thru proxy servants, by perverting what God has ordained and working to require submission to his rule - from kindergarten onward.

People who never knew much about the Lord are not those in danger from a Romans 1:18-32 style giving over to a depraved mind but those who, like essentially all Americans, who have been exposed to the Gospel, who have benefitted from a society drenched in the awareness of it, most definitely are.

This is why we are seeing people go crazy about championing homosexuality, if not being homosexual, in what is more and more a post-Christian West.

The Lord will NOT be mocked. If people prefer their sin to Him, then He will choose when they’ve had their last chances ... not them.

But as I often point out just because the culture is literally going to Hell that doesn’t mean we have to.

There was a point when Christ had said some hard things that caused many of those who had been following Him to go away, at which point He turned to the twelve and asked if they would leave too.

“To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

This should be our response too.

And we’ve been told that there would be a falling away! This should surprise no one. After all, didn’t Christ at one point wonder if He would find faith when He returned? He did.

When Elijah thought he alone remained the Lord let him know that there was a remnant. There is always a remnant. We can cling to the Lord, not depart, for He has the words of eternal life (and as it says He keeps those whom the Father gives to Him). When we do the world will hate us just as it hated Him. Expect that too.

As someone who has served in two congregations in two denominations, I increasingly find the use of the Term, Evangelical, troubling.

What exactly is an Evangelical? as far as I can tell, it is a vague (fuzzy boundaries) and ambiguous (contradictory meanings) label that connotes those who are essentially Arminian and Anabaptist, whatever superficial label they use. Non-Denominational churches seem to abound herein, and they function almost as a denomination unto themselves.

Circa 1974, I was told emphatically by a Southern Baptist male (who later graduated from a leftist “Evangelical” seminary) that I was not an Evangelical Christian. (He, by the bye, was an extremely “liberal” Democrat, while I was a staunchly conservative Republican.)

I belonged to a denomination that spent more on missions, and had more missionaries, than most denominations. But because I did not fit his profile of one, I was not an Evangelical.

The Evangelium - the Gospel, the Good News - is the business of any and all genuine Christians, no matter what their specific theological, or political, framework.

I oppose the abuse of this term - whether by the Enemedia or by Churchianity.

Wow, it’s like forgiveness is a foreign concept to self-proclaimed Christians.

Evangelicals aren't going for his phony baloney liberation theology. They know that God does not work for the State and probably resent his cynical twisting of scripture.

Most of us remember all too well Billy (BJ) Clinton's frequent twisting and misquoting of Scripture - Obama did it too. We shouldn't be tricked like that ever again! Granted, we're not electing a pastor but when a candidate's policies go against God's clear commands, we ought to obey God rather than man. Pete is a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Why would I vote for a practicing homosexual? Some lines I cannot cross.

I think they see some kind of moral equivalence between a "married" homosexual and a serial adulterer/multiple divorced man. Actually, they probably imagine Pete is morally superior to Trump so "religious" people shouldn't have any problem voting for him. Now Trump is a repentant former adulterer who is faithful to his wife in a heterosexual marriage while Buttigieg remains an unrepentant homosexual and proud of it. His far left liberal policies are repugnant regardless.

Not understanding. Do you think I should forgive Trump for being a provable absolute pig with women? He didn’t do it to me personally, nor has he asked anyone for forgiveness.

I believe a lot of our presidents have been, so he’s one in a long line. Obama seems to have treated women fine (snicker) but maybe he treated others badly. He did try to have his weekend bf Larry Sinclair locked up by biden’s Son.

Romans 1:18-32 is not about homosexuality but about willfully departing from the knowledge of the Lord.

REALLY??

Romans 1:18-32 New International Version (NIV)

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

James 2:2-4

2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

We voted for Trump in spite of his sexual sins--they just happened to be different sexual sins.

I voted for him because he has REPENTED of those sins.

Bingo!

I am beginning to believe quite strongly that the LGBTDF@WUDIOCNSGND thing is the DELUSION spoken of in the bible.
