People who never knew much about the Lord are not those in danger from a Romans 1:18-32 style giving over to a depraved mind but those who, like essentially all Americans, who have been exposed to the Gospel, who have benefitted from a society drenched in the awareness of it, most definitely are.

This is why we are seeing people go crazy about championing homosexuality, if not being homosexual, in what is more and more a post-Christian West.

The Lord will NOT be mocked. If people prefer their sin to Him, then He will choose when they’ve had their last chances ... not them.

But as I often point out just because the culture is literally going to Hell that doesn’t mean we have to.

There was a point when Christ had said some hard things that caused many of those who had been following Him to go away, at which point He turned to the twelve and asked if they would leave too.

“To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

This should be our response too.

And we’ve been told that there would be a falling away! This should surprise no one. After all, didn’t Christ at one point wonder if He would find faith when He returned? He did.

When Elijah thought he alone remained the Lord let him know that there was a remnant. There is always a remnant. We can cling to the Lord, not depart, for He has the words of eternal life (and as it says He keeps those whom the Father gives to Him). When we do the world will hate us just as it hated Him. Expect that too.
