Today in Hellworld, police are working backwards from witness statements to alter the photos of suspects so that they might be picked out of a lineup.
Police in Portland, Oregon the whitest big city in the country, in a state that was founded with a constitution that made being black within its borders illegal digitally altered the photo of a distinctly tattooed 50-year-old black man named Tyrone Allen, in order to try and implicate him in a bank robbery, according to Oregon Live.
The shocking move came after no bank tellers mentioned prominent tattoos in their description of the robber. Police reportedly altered his mugshot to remove his tattoos and then showed tellers a photo lineup, with some of the tellers then identifying him as the culprit.
I basically painted over the tattoos, police forensic criminalist Mark Weber testified. Almost like applying electronic makeup."
Legal experts were a bit taken aback that police would do something that seems only likely to increase the likelihood of a wrongful conviction.
Its unbelievable to me that police would ignore the fact that no teller has described a person with glaring tattoos and make this man into a possible suspect by covering them up, Temple law professor Jules Epstein told the paper. Theyre increasing the risk of mistaken identity.
Allen is currently in jail awaiting trial on three counts of robbery and one of attempted robbery. US District Court Judge Marco Hernandez is tasked with deciding whether the way in which he was arrested violated his rights and if the altered photos can be used as evidence.

But...but...no consequences for the MSM for Zimmerman?
This is why witness ID’s are not totally reliable. This guy is being framed just to get a conviction. If he has tattoo’s already then he could not be the robber.
LOL
Where did you see that? Also not all of the tellers could ID this guy even with the altered photo.
The job of the police isn’t to protect you. It’s to catch as many criminals as they possibly can, even if they can frame you for it. That’s something liberals should consider if they also think only the police should carry guns.
The accused cold have used makeup to cover them up during the crime spree in order to hamper identification.
That’s a dick move by the cops for two reasons. One, they’re setting this guy up to take a fall for a crime he almost certainly did not commit. I’m pretty sure someone would’ve remembered and mentioned the ink. Two, they are expending all this time and energy on something they know is not actually bringing the real criminal to justice. Hey, there’s an armed robber running around out there and they are intentionally not going after him? Fire and prosecute.
Yes, he may be 7 feet tall, but someone shorter seems to have broken his nose before.
Law Enforcement should not look to Comey, McCabe, Strozk, Brennan and Clapper for exemplary moral leadership.
Thou shalt not bear false witness...

I was mugged a few years ago, and picked the wrong guy out of the lineup.
The guy I pointed out, #2, was actually a cop.
He had same complexion & build.
The sarge in charge had pulled him off desk duty & made him
put on the perp’s clothes & sneakers.
The perp was #3, but was wearing another guy’s clothes.
So, yeah, they do stuff like that.
After reading the first paragraph, I stopped.
Who wrote that sh!t?
Robber can’t cover his tattoos with make up?
Nothing burger democrat outrage machine.
“The article doesnt mention that the perp had altered his face to hide the tattoos during the robbery. Forensics was trying to duplicate what the perp did.”
I figured.
These are manufactured articles from the left to generate outrage.
This isn't new. This is the way law enforcement has always been done.
The police have a 'hunch' about who the perp is, then gather or, in some cases such as this one, manufacture the evidence to get a conviction.
It happened to a friend of mine who was convicted of murdering his wife. After many appeals he was finally freed, mainly because all of the tainted (read: manufactured) evidence had been thrown out. No evidence = no case.
Do you have a source for this?
I thought it was common practice to cover tattoos in line up photos so witnesses don’t focus on them.
Not booking photos but photos used for witness id.
