Because LGBTQ Americans living in poverty often experience unacceptable homophobia and transphobia, many become homeless.
A majority of homeless LGBTQ people end up on the streets before they turn 18, and one in four is homeless before turning 16.

I stopped giving to the salvation army after their appalling behavior during katrina
It is how they are going to control us. We’d better make inroads in the black and Hispanic community because they are now be put aside for something like 0.03% of the population. And they are in charge. So if you are a young mind full of mush, and you see the special treatment they get, doesn’t look that bad, does it?
I give $$ to the Salvation Army and also use to give items as well until our store closed. There are some concerns to all of this. As Christians we are to provide for those in need however, the LGBTQ Community needs to provide immediate assistance for these people. I foresee someone witnessing to one of the LGBTQ’s and it turns into a law suit. There are those who have an agenda and would stop at nothing to ruin a wonderful philanthropic gesture. We know the answer for everyone’s situation and His Name is JESUS.
They THINK (the moron who make decisions) that the kool aid being handed out is being ingested by everyone because they are slaved to msm and hollywwood.
They didn’t learn from ALL of the companies that have made thee same mistake the past several years.
Seems almost IMPOSSIBLE to still be making that mistake.
And YES, I used INGESTED because I didn’t know which form of the verb for DRINK I should have used :)
When I saw their "stats" that is exactly what I thought. A lot of "runaways" have been sexually molested.
...and so it goes.
What did they do?
Various orgs have made it real easy for me to walk by and not give a dime anymore. SA was about the last of the big ones we gave to, but then they moved the Gospel to make room for “social justice.”
You know what, you can’t put a socially sick spin on children with cancer and donating to St. Jude’s is one think that makes me very happy.
Bye Bye Salivation Army.
QUESTION:
Why does THE SALVATION ARMY need a “special fund” for LGBTQ homeless victims?
Ive donated to St Jude too.
Good place.
It is.
With all the make believe victims out there now, these are REAL victims, these kids.
I’m giving more and more to the local Feline Charity.
long story. i went to volunteer and we had to sit through a 2 hour presentation on how being through Katrina was similar to being a slave on the middle passage to america. So much junk about how black people are so oppressed by whitey We were told that we couldnt talk about God to these people (the whole reason. I signed up). The. we were told they were so traumatized that some of them would stop and crap on the floor in front of us and we were to clean it up without comment. It turned out the volunteer job they wanted us for was to be daily maid service for the for the dorm rooms ppl were being housed in. Not cleaning between occupants but daily maid service. I was so sick of the liberal bulge being thrown around i walked out of the meeting and have not given a dime since.
Hmmm...I was good with serving that community until the part where they give benefits to same sex couples as part of their employment practices:
“Does The Salvation Army provide benefits to the spouses of employees in same-sex marriages?
Yes. We provide the same benefits to opposite-sex and same-sex couples.”
Kinda funny, although I am not Salvation Army, they were going to be part of the Sunday School lesson this coming Sunday, as they are a sister denomination. There goes that idea.
YIKES....yuk....will be reconsidering out Salvation Army contributions, but wonder about local management...whether they are different? Or does it come from “corporate?”
Adding: we donated to the Salvation Army quite abit, especially near Christmas. Not any more.
im not sure. I give to local charities for homeless veterans and the local rescue mission that feeds the homeless as well as world vision.
I also give to Franklin Grahams organization. I like his message.
