I didn’t know you could impeach a president if a foreign country ban a citizen from coming to visit. Jeez, where is that written in the Constitution?
There are quite a few like that. Whoopie Goldberg comes to mind. From drama like The Color Purple, movies like Ghost and Sister Act, parts in Law & Order episodes and as Guinan in Star Trek's next Generation, she is an excellent actress. But a full-blown political moron.
O' Connor was smart to not let people know he was a super liberal kook in real life.
He would say, "Yes, i'm passionate about things like Archie, but in a different way"
And laughed all the way to the bank, because he knew the character was popular.
An actor playing a conservative in 2019 would say:"F-NO! I hate this character. He's like a billion Trump-Hitlers rolled up into one ball. F those people who like my character. He's hateful and should be put away. They need to be put away, too."
The meat in his head has gone rotten long ago.
Reiner needs to find his rock and crawl back under it. The announced itinerary noted no meetings whatsoever with any Israeli official, but plenty of meetings (rabblerousing) with Pali activists.
As for the sobstory that Talib can’t visit her ‘homeland’, she had ample time to do so as a non-paid private citizen. But thanks to Daddy for admitting it was just an all-expenses paid vacation for his daughter compliments of the US Congress.
In the Heat of the Night is a great novel. John Ball wrote a great novel about nudism called The Cool Cottontail. It is about a murder and the murderer left the body at a nudist resort. Virgil Tibbs ran into some troubles, but John Ball was a naturist, so the resort was realistic.
Inter racial saying and marriage was not the norm even 20 years ago.
“Strangely enough, Carroll OConnor was decidedly more liberal in real life.”
He was very pro-gun though. I saw him doing an interview on tv shortly after his drug addicted son committed suicide. The shows host tried to get him to blame the gun for his sons death. But he wasnt having any of it. Insisting it was the drugs that altered his sons behavior. Not the gun.

Very poignant post, considering the modern day massacres we are witnessing.
Looking into the vacant eyes of the young men committing these shootings, one has to wonder about the pervasive psychotropic drugs prescribed combined with all the other street drugs warping their minds.
O’Connor was smart to not let people know he was a super liberal kook in real life.
I’m just grateful that he was principled enough and had the integrity to play Archie the way he did.
What with the insane PC climate coupled with TDS, I seriously doubt we could ever be fortunate again to tune in to watch an iconic character like Archie Bunker today.
All In The Family was based on a British show. One of the actors was Cherie Blair’s father.
Dead from the neck up.
Your comments also apply to Ron Howard (Opie).
IIRC, he went after his son's drug dealer in court.
Not sure what happened to the case.
I read O'Connor's autobiography "I Think I'm Out of Here"
Really kind of a let down.
I thought he'd have some great stories about All in the Family, but it was just mentioned in passing.
It was mostly about his acting philosophy, some mentions of his politics, "I don't know WHY someone would support republicans, they are so against what the working man needs (i.e.unions)".
But the biggest focus was on his son and how he died from drugs.
I think it broke his heart, and he was never the same.
Which is understandable.
The drug dealer was found guilty.
