The Brits seem to love Spain for vacation.
Its a plot devise used from Brit comedies to Brit drams like East Enders. - “Where’s Charlie oh he’s in Spain for holiday! or Where’s Lady Anne she’s at Torremolinos, Costa Del Sol!”

Why Spain?
Wouldn’t make a lot out of this Brits routinely vacation - “ holiday” in Spain. So no big deal that during August someone, even a royal, would go there.
