Warren’s speech was on a college campus. Students are returning for the fall semester. She advocated for a 2% wealth tax on all wealth over $50 million. She said that this “TWO CENTS” would be enough to provide free education for everyone. Even many college students of today do not understand the difference between two percent and two cents.

She made it seem like the greedy rich wouldn’t even miss that money. She didn’t say anything about the wealth that would be sheltered by trusts, non-profits, etc. Her numbers implied that all wealth over fifty million would be taxed. Her audience loved it.

FTA: Bloomberg reports that the Democratic National Committee’s financial woes continue as Chairman Tom Perez and his colleagues continue to spend more than they take in. In fact, the DNC has already added $3 million in new debt in just the past four months. The Republican National Committee, however, is raking in boatloads of cash ahead of the 2020 election which will surely give President Donald J. Trump a leg up on whomever he ends up running against.

In 2019 already, the “DNC had collected contributions of more than $24.4 million but had spent $28.4 million, according to the latest disclosures. It had $7.6 million cash on hand, $1 million less than in January. It posted $6.2 million in debt, including bank loans and unpaid invoices to vendors,” according to Bloomberg.

My proposal to the politically correct Automobile Companies would lower the average price of a car to consumers by more than $3000, while at the same time making the cars substantially safer. Engines would run smoother. Very little impact on the environment! Foolish executives!

So Germany is paying Zero interest and is actually being paid to borrow money, while the U.S., a far stronger and more important credit, is paying interest and just stopped (I hope!) Quantitative Tightening. Strongest Dollar in History, very tough on exports. No Inflation!.....

Another reason you, your son and your grandson, hubby too, need to move here.

We have an excellent charter school that caters to autistic children.

It was started by a former teacher, principal and superintendent of schools, who I knew very well, he has since passed.

I am friends with and know several of the teachers.

One I worked with for several years in SPED at the Jr. High, another is a neighbor.

I contemplated joining the faculty but just couldn’t bring myself to leave my BFF, a teacher who I dearly love, the one who had that horrendous Whipple Procedure to stop cancer in her intestines.

Praying your little grandson will have a positive experience today, so important for him, and you will be able to enjoy your day.

EPA Dismisses California’s Emission Compromise With Automakers
July 25, 2019

Four major automakers reached a compromise with California’s clean-air regulator to boost fuel efficiency, a move the Trump administration dismissed as a “PR stunt” that wouldn’t affect its plans to ease mileage requirements enacted during the Obama administration

The compromise with California gives participating automakers some relief starting in model year 2022 by easing the pace of annual efficiency gains currently required under the California Air Resources Board’s regulations on tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions, and extends the program by one year through 2026. Automakers will also receive additional compliance credits for selling electric vehicles under the plan, among other revisions, the state’s air pollution regulator said.

In a joint statement, the automakers said the pact with California “will provide our companies much-needed regulatory certainty by allowing us to meet both federal and state requirements with a single national fleet, avoiding a patchwork of regulations while continuing to ensure meaningful greenhouse gas emissions reductions.”

Today’s announcement from CARB has no impact on EPA’s regulation of greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act,” Michael Abboud, an EPA spokesman, said in an email. “This voluntary framework is a PR stunt that does nothing to further the one national standard that will provide certainty and relief for American consumers.”

In the statement, NHTSA said work continues on a final rule with which all companies must comply.

Automakers for months have urged the Trump administration to moderate its rollback, fearing a lengthy legal battle over California’s regulatory powers would throw the critical standards into uncertainty for years. Those efforts have had little sway so far on the White House, which rejected a plea by 17 carmakers last month to work out a compromise with California.

The companies also want to avoid a split market — with federal mileage requirements in most states and more stringent rules in more than a dozen states that adhere to California’s standards. The states that follow California standards account for more than a third of all U.S. auto sales.
