AFter landing in the corn field was popcorn coming out the jet exhaust? Too bad it didn’t hit a dairy farm they would have had butter for it.

Good landing: everybody walks away from the aircraft.

Great landing: the aircraft is still flight worthy.

Rarely can an aircraft survive a strike by a dozen or so people birds but 220+ getting sucked into the engines!??!

Unbelievable!

It is amazing how some people focus during an emergency while others may become confused or even inactive.

Training and experience can mitigate the adrenaline but it usually comes down to the individual. Unless you experience it in real life most never know.

AFter landing in the corn field was popcorn coming out the jet exhaust?

A friend that owned a farm in western Illinois had a powered hang glider crash in his corn, just across the fence from an airport.
They drove every piece of equipment available through the corn when the could have simply cut a few strands of wire.

The pilot was a neighbor and no way would he complain.

Take offs are optional, landings are not.

Unbelievable!
I don’t believe everything on the internet either.

And the full-length title did not fit:

Miracle of the cornfield! Hero pilot safely belly-lands a flaming Russian jet carrying 233 people on farmland after a flock of birds got sucked into both engines during take-off

Hard to have exhaust coming out of engines that aren't running. ;-)
