You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
TOPICS: Chit/Chat

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Solution to our last puzzle:
SOMETIMES THE QUESTIONS ARE COMPLICATED AND THE ANSWERS ARE SIMPLE. DR. SEUSS

Of course, you know my posts are intended to inject an element of silliness when possible, not take away from any wisdom in the quote.
Many of yesterday's replies to the Dr Suess quote were very creative.

All but the next-to-last letter in the first name, about 90 sec.

Sorry, I thought you were playing on the words of the quote, as was I in return. Hope your day improves.

Same here. 7 letters left and as far as i could tell all would work with a name like that.
To: nikos1121
That will work....BUT I was ‘forced’ to use the ‘klew’

Catching up from vacation.
About two minutes (I had to google the author's first name).
One request...
For those of us who wish to solve these without clues (including photos of the author), can you NOT put them in the first post? I can scroll down later to see them.
Thanks.
