Todays Cryptogram
VAJSQWJSV QIS POSVQWAEV RUS FAJGZWFRQSM REM QIS REVLSUV RUS VWJGZS. MU. VSOVV
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
COMMON SENSE IS THE KNACK OF SEEING THINGS AS THEY ARE, AND DOING THINGS AS THEY OUGHT TO BE DONE. SOURCE OBSCURE
2 min.
Did you solve it with one look?
Did you solve it with a book?
Did you flip it on it’s back?
Did you give it one big whack?
No, I think that’s what they did to Epstein...
come to think of it, today’s quote describes that situation too...
Rotating the most common three letter words until they fit got me in, then the first word became clear. But I fooled myself initially with the honorific. I was thinking Saint.
do you think that he got beat
did they hang him with a sheet
Or not!!
Got ‘lucky’ and found an $ very early and it turned out to be the ‘meat’ of the puzzle....
The letters falling into place,
Made it feel just like a race.
It was simple, a minute or so.
I cleverly guessed the author, then the rest was easy.
You people are hilarious
Under one minute, but I “saw” the author’s name and once I typed that in, I had the whole thing. They’ve been SO hard lately, nice to have an easier one today.
The name of the author is immediately obvious. After that, it’s typing.
About 3 minutes today.
About two minutes. I figured out the three letter words, and the rest flowed from there.
