Millennial Writer Cries at Work, Puts Mother on Speakerphone after Editor Corrects Her Spelling

How does a boss manage a worker who believes their feelings trump reality, right down to the way she "feels" about her misspelled words?

Gently. And probably badly, even though that's no fault of the boss in question.

Carol Blymire -- a "communications and public policy executive, branding consultant, professor, writer" -- took to Twitter on Friday to tell the story she overheard of a young writer, probably "in her late 20s," going over edits with her boss.

What issue caused mentor and student such agitation and aggravation? Had the boss been needlessly cruel? Had the young writer pushed some radical agenda, and was refusing to tamp it down a bit? Hardly. They were arguing over how to spell "hamster." You know, the little furry rodents some people keep in one of those winding Habitrail cages.

Can you guess what happened next? The young woman, according to Blymire, "insists she doesn’t need to look it up because it’s FINE to spell it with a P because that’s HOW SHE WANTED TO SPELL IT."

I knew kids in college decades ago who were electrical engineers. Okay yes their English was a little off but they were sharp as tacks. Their hobby? Rewiring the dorm just for sheer laziness. Like installing a circuit breaker in their room so they did not have to go downstairs to flip it when it busted. Stuff like that.

What happened?

Not just any cocoa, it has to be free trade, organic, conflict free, sustainable, non GMO cocoa.

No, this is not the generation that stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Life will cull them out. The predators are always on the horizon watching for the weak and the unaware.

“I hate to say it, but people like that are not salvageable. Meaning that they’ll never function as proper adults, and are stuck with having the psychological and emotional health of a pre-pubescent schoolchild. They are future Darwin Award winners, to say the least.”

Get married to a good man, raise a family and learn to code so you have part time work.

Washington DC. Unfortunately, that means she’ll get another job right away. Too much federal money coursing through the streets.

“...What happened?....”
I visited with my old college advisor/dean a couple of years ago. He told me to be thankful I went thru the engineering curriculum when I did. I asked why’s that and he told that now...undergraduate engineering students have to take a full 18 semester-hours of SJW classes!!! I asked him the SJW advanced basket weavers had to take any engineering courses and nearly split a gut laughing..and said, no, they’d all flunk. Apparently, the accreditation board forces them to do it in order to maintain accreditation. But that’s 18 semester hours of classes that should be dedicated to engineering electives rather than some stupid political nonsense and liberal BS. To get the same level of engineering education today would require going two more years in graduate school.
I would imagine the SJW classes really messes their minds up emotionally.

I sincerely wonder from which school of higher learning did this 20-ish female “scribe- wordsmith’ crawl from?
