Published on Jul 19, 2019 This video ranks the top 15 countries in the world by total exports of goods and services from 1960 to 2018. Exports of goods and services represent the value of all goods and other market services provided to the rest of the world. They include the value of merchandise, freight, insurance, transport, travel, royalties, license fees, and other services, such as communication, construction, financial, information, business, personal, and government services.
China comes out of nowhere and surpasses the US then we gain the lead then China takes it.
It shows the economy by month and year pretty fast.
Astonishing and disgusting. 1995 is when they appeared, no coincidence there.
Thanks for posting it. Bookmarked.
Wow, Great data. Great graphics.
Thanks
Thank you, Bill Clinton.
And they became #1 less than twenty years later and have been 6 years in a row.
Since China's manufacturing work force is at least 5 times larger than ours (USA - 12.9 million), that means that USA factories are massively more productive than Chinese factories.
Country-to-country comparisons are always complex.
Should we compare in US Dollars or US Purchase Parity Dollars?
That can make a huge difference because of exchange rates, monetary policy, and the cost of living in each country.
Also, Chinese statistics are always open to question.
Some sources claim that China has 200 million industrial workers, but others are as low as 80 million.
One thing always jumps out at me in Chinese labor statistics:
China - Agriculture Workers - 25% of the work force
USA - Agriculture Workers - less than 2% of our work force
Damn, we all share responsibility in that, but our leaders, for allowing us to get bent over a barrel and not taking care of business share a great deal of the problem.
ESPECIALLY Democrats.
“China - Agriculture Workers - 25% of the work force
USA - Agriculture Workers - less than 2% of our work force “
USA -300 million people.
Chine - 2 billion people.
More people to feed, more workers needed.
“Sarc” tag missing?
2% compared to 25% means that American agricultural workers are 12.5 times more productive than Chinese ag workers.
Actually, since America is one of the top food exporters in the world, it means we are more than 12.5 times more productive.
