Yekaterina Karaglanova Russian Instagram Influencer Body Found Stabbed, Stuffed In Suitcase

Investigators believe the young woman could have been murdered out of jealousy. She had recently entered a new relationship and was planning to celebrate her birthday with a trip to The Netherlands.
Yekaterina Karaglanova, a 24-year old Russian Instagram influencer, was found dead with her body stuffed into a suitcase in her Moscow apartment, Russian media reports say, citing police.
The horrific discovery was made after Karaglanovas parents, who could not reach her by phone for several days, contacted the landlord and entered the apartment, discovering her body inside the suitcase stabbed several times and her throat slit.
Investigators believe the murder was motivated by jealousy. The woman had recently begun a new relationship and was planning to celebrate her birthday in the Netherlands on 30 July. The suitcase, thought to be the only one she owned, was reportedly supposed to accompany her on the trip. Investigators believe the disturbing fashion in which the womans body was left could be a clue to who performed the murder.
CCTV footage revealed that an ex-boyfriend who visited Karaglanova and left the apartment after several hours has already left Russia, according to police. It is undisclosed whether the man is under investigation.
The womens friends disclosed that she not only boasted admirers but also that people who harassed her.
I cant say anything for sure, but [Yekaterina] wrote me herself that someone is bothered by her private life. Someone definitely disliked her a lot, a friend told the media. She changed a lot recently; Ive been messaged that shes doing something she should not do.
The young woman, who according to some bore a striking resemblance to 20th century cinema icon Audrey Hepburn, was studying in medical university to become a dermatologist, media reports say. She ran a travel blog and an Instagram account that had some 85,000 followers.
Or... by spreading the fact of her existence thru her Instagram Influencer role...she influenced the wrong person (that would never have known she existed had she maintained a lower profile).
The wrong person, in this case, had a taste for women in suitcases.
Dont do anything online
Only go to FREEREPUBLIC!
What the heck is an “Instagram influencer”?
Big-assed, pouty lipped women and steroid enhanced males who post their pictures for the world to see. This is a horrific murder. While I can’t stand social media, this poor girl didn’t deserve this.
Not Guilty!
Ex-boyfriend arrested, per recent news accounts. I don’t get the “influencer” thing, but apparently there is $$$ in it for some. I guess hits produce ad revenue.
Seems like a young Russkaia into internet poker was murdered only a month or so ago.
She sure "influenced" me!
All flesh is grass ... Tragic, she was a beautiful young woman. Now she is in eternity.
I like to watch youtube fashion sites. These women should be commended for being entrepreneurial. They aren’t all classic beauties but they are real go-getters and put out very pleasant content, understand their entertainment value and have good video editing capabilities, so that they rival commercial sites. Their fantasy lives of fashion, beauty and lifestyle are which many aspire.
I am sure this really shakes up their very pleasant world. May she rest in peace.
in Soviet Russia, suitcase carries you
LOL
It’s sad she was treated this way. Almost hope it was an “ex-boyfriend” issue...and not a pervert. Heaven knows there’s enough of them out there, and the internet gives them a tremendous hunting ground to look for unknowing prey.
I have had a bit of experience with influencers in helping a client of mine in the aquarium supply business. Its one of the rare times that internet money can be actually realized.
Your mileage may vary, but my experience is that they are people that have developed a social media following that (at least temporarily) will tolerate sponsored content. In my case a guy that had a following in the aquarium care YouTube space took on my client as a sponsor. Not really any more complicated than that in my case.
That being said, the title gets thrown around fairly loosely. There are morons out there with 50 Instagram followers that fancy themselves as big shot influencers.
Such a horrifying idea. God protect us all.
Is, how you say , Not Guilty’’, da?
Thanks — that was a good explanation.
What kind of idiot lets an “instagram influencer” influence them?
