A Kentucky woman has been arrested after her child severely burned an 11-year-old boy by pouring boiling water on him as a part of the dangerous 'Hot Water Challenge'.
Billy Oliver was sleeping over at his friend's house in Manchester when his pal woke him up around 2.30am and threw boiling water on him on July 23.
Billy suffered horrific second and third-degree burns that peeled his skin across his neck, back and shoulder in the shocking water attack.
His friend splashed him with the scalding liquid as a part of the 'Hot Water Challenge' where kids boil water to 212 degrees and pour it on someone or else drink it themselves.
The friend's mother Angela Guth, 42, turned herself into police on Friday and faces charges of second-degree criminal abuse and first-degree wanton endangerment charge for failing to get Billy medical attention following the incident, according to WYMT.
Guth's child's name was not released as he is a minor.
'It was a ten. On one, well on a zero to ten scale how bad it hurt, it was a ten,' Billy said on how his sleepover playing Fortnite with his friend turned terribly wrong.
Shocking photos of his injuries show Billy's skin reddened and peeling. At his shoulder his skin turned a shocking shade of red. His face appeared uninjured in the attack.
Billy is being treated at the Cincinatti Burn Center and is expected to recover and doctors do not believe he will need skin grafts for his injuries as his skin has continued to heal on its own.

No the Shoot Someone’s Stupid Parent Challenge would be a hoot...
A friendly prank would have been to pour ice cold water on your friend. The prankster might get busted upside the head, though.
Is that turning the tables on the whole I knew it was the Amish thing?
We threw mud clods and sycamore balls.
What is an itchy ball?
I guess “friend” doesn’t mean what it used to.
“What is an itchy ball?”
It is the pollen balls that came off the sycamore trees. We would collect them and throw them at each other.
It was probably 50/50 which kid would have got splashed first.
Well they don’t know boiling water burns so they don’t know much
Glad The internaet allows this but thinks conservative speech is evil.Find out where this started, track the bastard down and give him the challenge.
Yeah... If someone did that to my kid, that someone would take an extended, unnanounced vacation.
Been done. Russian Roulette.
After the movie, “The Deer Hunter” came out an amazing number of people ask if I had played Russian roulette!!!
People that had attended OK schools.
Yet unfamiliar with a metaphor???
I would attempt to explain the randomness of violence in war, but...
Some people will believe anything and if seen on a big screen, even more.
“The friend’s mother Angela Guth, 42, turned herself into police on Friday...”
How did she do that? A one-day course at the academy?
Thank you.
I do not understand how this is even a “challenge” by the time you can boil water you should be aware of the dangers of hot liquid.
The mom needs jail time for not getting that child to the hospital after it happened.
OMG. Daily Mail. Hubby has started reading their page regularly as it is the only way you can learn what is really going on in this country.
This dame needs to go to prison for a LONG TIME. Maybe some of the celeb schmucks who ran stupid TV ads urging the electoral college to place Hillary in the WH in 2016 would do a PSA advising EXTREMELY STUPID PEOPLE not to do things like this.

“Are there other temperatures one can boil water to?”
This is a weird enough coincidence that I will say it here. Last week in bible study we got, somehow, to talking about the “scientific laws of the universe”. And the temp of boiling water was our example. And I said, well, when the French Revolution came they wanted so much to throw out EVERYTHING that had gone before, they even invented the Metric System of measurement.
But of course, the water is just as hot.
That is stupid. I do remember putting the hand in warm water trick. That was a pisser.
OOOOOOKKKKKK
DON’T take a xanax :)
It was just an expression. I didn’t give a dam what she took to calm her down
I’m sure tea works :)
