As wonderful as it all sounds, even in the liberal utopia that many Democrats seemingly live, money still doesn’t grow on trees... So how does Booker plan to pay for his amazing plan? The cost of the proposal would be covered by massive tax hikes, of course.
Cory Booker admits that US taxpayers will have to cover the $60 billion needed for his plan through massive tax hikes The bill, formally known as The American Opportunity Accounts Act, failed when introduced in Congress last year. Under the bill, the Treasury Department would fund and manage savings accounts for every child born.TRENDING: Cory Booker Bill US Taxpayers Must Give up to 46k to Every Baby Born in America Poorer families would qualify for more money than more prosperous ones, Yahoo! Finance reports: As a birthright, the bill proposes, every child would be given a $1,000 savings account. Each year, the government would deposit as much as $2,000 into the account, depending upon the familys income level.
The poorer the family, the more money the child would get.Funds would be deposited into low-risk accounts managed by the Treasury, which the bill assumes would see roughly 3% returns a year. By age 18, Americas poorest children those from families with incomes of less than $25,100 for a family of four, would receive $46,215 (in 2019 dollars). The richest those in families with incomes over $125,751 would only get $1,681 at time of maturity. © press The bill is also being pushed by AOC Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) According to CNS News, the account would be inaccessible to the children until they reach the age of 18. After which they could spend it only on certain approved expenditures, like home purchases, tuition, and job-related education. The government would manage the funds in the accounts by making low-risk investments that would provide an expected annual average yield of approximately three percent. The proposal, which would cost taxpayers an estimated $60 billion annually, would be funded by tax increases, Sen. Booker admits. Wow what an incredibly stupid idea. They’re just opening up the floodgates for illegal immigration.
Why don't you and all the other socialists just come out and say you want to control production to distribution? You all know your communists at heart.
Peace, Love, and F**k You. I've lived in a communist community for a short time during the '60's, and watched as it fell apart before my eyes. Have you, you commie pri**k?
The Democrats are literally trying to reinstitute slavery.
They need to be called out on this non-stop.
At some point excessive taxation is slavery.
NN is an apparent garbage site, but it is probably true nonetheless.
Come and take it, Coyote Booker.
Just you.
Please try.
Do that and I will identify as a newborn baby.
And you’re a racist if you say I’m not!
I’ll donate a 9mm round to the idiot.
aka, 'The Brain Trust'.

By illegals. Well we’re basically doing just than now.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Misguided, post-17th Amendment ratification Sen. Booker unsurprisingly doesnt seem to understand that the states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to either appropriate taxes to pay people for being born in the U.S., or to manage bank savings accounts for such people, including citizens.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
In other words, constitutionally low-information Booker is unthinkingly trying to expand the already unconstitutionally big federal government's powers to try to win a few votes for his Oval Office campaign imo.
