Not as bad as United’s goof way back when. They had a ‘Take Me With You’ program’ where wives flew free. As part of the promo, flowers were sent to the wives after the flight with a thank you note. Many wives complained they got flowers but didn’t take any flight with their husbands..

The other thing most people don’t realize is that Airplanes are dictatorships.
The pilot and his minions are in charge. What the pilot says, goes. End of story.
If he wants you off, you are off. I don’t care if you are a TRANS-POC, no amount of identity politics changes the fact that the pilot has final say.

It is startling to me also. On the other hand I’m able to realize that it’s not threatening and not worth bitching about to a national audience.
Now, if I walked into a Walmart, in a state I’ve never even visited before, and was greeted by name (and yes, that what technology can do now), that would freak me out (but also make it less likely for me to walk out without paying for stuff).
I have a voicemail app on my phone that addresses people by name....hello John, _____ can’t answer right now. It freaks people out. lol Yesterday my tech guy left me a message that said as he was laughing....I didn’t know voice mail could do that. It said my name, that is so cool!
It uses my contacts and if an unknown person calls that can be identified it actually identifies them.
No. But when there are no consequences for any form of outrageous actions and/or speech, they will become even more outrageous. Just as a child will test his/her boundaries.
The sad part is that WE, as a society, have given THEM, anyone with a perceived grievance, the tools that permit such behavior.
