The astringently humorless "fact check" squad at Snopes.com just keeps ripping the Babylon Bee website, painting their satire as "misinformation." This time, Ellie Gardey at the Daily Caller forced Snopes to revise their "fact check" and add actual facts.
The Bee was mocking Georgia state Rep. Erica Thomas for claiming a man told her to "go back" to where she came from in the Express Lane at the local Publix supermarket. They inserted the eternally gracious staff at Chick-fil-A into the scene for laughs: Georgia Lawmaker Claims Chick-Fil-A Employee Told Her To Go Back To Her Country, Later Clarifies He Actually Said My Pleasure.
Snopes launched its attack, complaining "We're not sure if fanning the flames of controversy and muddying the details of a news story classify an article as 'satire.'"
The Daily Caller pointed out that Snopes muddied the details, failing to note that Thomas walked back her claims when they were challenged.

You are so lucky grame! You can call him a moron....and say “but I mean that in a good way”, and he’ll take it as a compliment. Unlike my wife when I say that to her, she just punches me in the nuts and says it’s a show of physical affection. Man you women are weird!
They have to fake having a sense of humor, to try to blend in.
I'm not disrespecting them - it's not their fault.
The sheen over his eyes is the “tell” for a recent soy enema.
My hubby does not understand sarcasm unless explained to him and then he doesn’t understand the purpose. He often says, is this sarcasm.
You're married to Sheldon Cooper?
False
At Snopes, we have eaten many children cooked in many ways and have found out that a Fricasie is certainly not the equal to Roasting or Baking.
I get sarcasm & satire.
Alas, so much of modern news is so much more bizarre than any attempt to satirize it, making most satire indistinguishable from reality.
Babylon Bee is the only effective satire site remaining, and even that is getting hard to maintain.
Well they were happy until this happened:
Snopes Co-Founder Embezzles $98,000, Drops Weight, Leaves Fat Wife And Marries Actual Whore
They should fact check Candide for whether this really the best of all possible worlds too.
Dang. Beat me to it.
For proof, I remind you the entire democrat party missed Trumps joke of finding Hillary’s emails... as a further break with reality, the FBI already had her server by that time when they think he actually asked them to hack it again...
When Snopes debunks the “hands up don’t shoot” narrative (even Politifact, of all places, gave that their infamous PANTS ON FIRE rating), then, MAYBE than I’d consider them slightly credible. But hell will freeze over, or longer than that the Mets will win another World Series before that ever happens.
Yes they are. But there's certainly nothing "liberal" about them. The current crop of leftists have become the joyless, uptight prudes that they used to accuse conservatives and Christians of being.
All democrats have been lobotamised or are zombies.
What? You thought Sheldon was a fictitious mockery? He's real. The names were changed to protect the innocent.
That's what made BBT funny, for so many years.
Excellent! Thanks for the reposting Snopes fact check of Jonathan Swift.
Fact checking a satire site?
Fact checking a satire site?
Wait...
Fact checking a satire site?
Hahahahaha! LOL! Snopes jumped the shark BIG TIME!
Hahahahaha! OMG...
I didn’t realize that anyone still considered Snopes to be a reliable source for information.
Not a reposting of Snopes. It was my original satire of their site. They probably haven’t eaten enough children to compare cooking methods.
Muddling the details is the tradecraft of Snopes. And intelligence agencies like the CIA for example.
