Always enjoyed his roles. Sorry to read today that he has passed away.
I think that’s one of the truly bad aspects of growing old, seeing so many people you wish hadn’t, pass away.

Rutger Hauer didn’t get a lot of acclaim but stood out in everything he did.
If you can take (or even enjoy) over the top violence and obscenity, watch him in Shotgun Santa Claus, an absolutely vile guilty pleasure.

Convincing your girlfriend that she’s crazy or paranoid is called gaslighting , and it’s a dick move.
Convincing her that she’s a robot with artificially implanted human emotions is called bladerunning, and it’s a Philip K. Dick move.

I liked him in the cheesy “Wanted: Dead or Alive” as well as “Blade Runner” and “Nighthawks”.
Goodbye Mr. Hauer.

My favorite Rutger Hauer movies
Escape from Sobibor (you can catch it on You Tube)
The Hitcher
Night Hawks
Great Actor. The rumor was he was up for the part of Lestat in Interview with the Vampire and would have been much better than Tom Cruise.
