Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Fox News "went all in for Trump" in the 2016 primaries in an interview with PBS's "Firing Line with Margaret Hoover."
"I think Fox News went all in for Trump. That was the decision they made," Cruz said in an interview about journalist Tim Albertas book "American Carnage," which quotes Cruz as saying Fox News founder Roger Ailes's "dying wish" was to elect Trump as president. Ailes was forced out in 2016 over sexual misconduct allegations and died the next year.
Asked about the quote, Cruz said, "I didnt know Roger well, but I think it clearly is what he wanted to do."
Hoover asked Cruz why he believed the network preferred Trump as a candidate. "I cant tell you that, but I can tell you, starting in about March of 2016, they went all in for Trump, and they made a decision. That was a decision made at the network level, reflected on every show," Cruz said.

I lost a lot of respect for Ted Cruz after his shenanigans during the election, most notably his anti-Trunp speech at the convention and his efforts to flip delegates against the wishes of the voters. He came across as Hillary-lite with those moves. He is still in the penalty box as far as I’m concerned.
Not during the primaries they sure as hell didn’t... jebus you don’t recall the attempt to spin Trump’s feud tweets with Rosie as an attack on ALL women by Fox’s then head eye candy?
After Chairman Maobama, you are STILL fixated on this nonsense? Frankly, though I supported Cruz, I am thrilled that Trump won. This, despite utter failure at the border. At least he fights the leftists at every turn.
The Constitution in not nonsense to me.
Cruz’ mother was an American. Where she bore Ted is irrelevant. The Constitution authors would definitely have considered Ted eligible, as opposed to kids of illegals who are simply dumped on US soil.
Natural born citizens are NATURALLY citizens because they have only ONE nationality.
The founders would have laughed at a THREE nationality candidate.
So you believe Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, are natural born citizens eligible to be President?
She still has to file paperwork for being born abroad, Homey. She left the U.S. and lived in UK for awhile, than came back across the pond, and lived in Canada. Did she do anything during that time to jeopardize her own citizenship? Oh, Ted had her records sealed, hmm, curious.
Cruz, the Canadian has gone off the rails.
Ted Cruz wanted to be President so bad he could taste it. If that doesn’t tell you how butthurt Ted Cruz is towards Trump then no one knows how in the world you sensed that. Since the election, lying Ted has laid low. He hasn’t done near the number of antics he did leading up to the 2016 election. Oh, he had to deal with that fake maheecan but really he has nowhere come near to the national spotlight other than that. Cruz is a little more than butthurt.
Well, we were stupid enough to elect Chairman Maobama twice, so why not children of al-Alwaki in the future?
Cruz supports Trump virtually all the time. To suggest otherwise is downright silly.
I say uphold the Constitution.
By sharing Teds own words, that equals FR enemies?
Ted is a small minded man, hes on the losing end with this interview
No offense intended.
Rafael has serious supporters of his “eligibility” for POTUS here.
yes it does
So you’re on record as saying that Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids are natural born citizens of the USA eligible to be President provided they are old enough and live here for 14 years?
Cruz supports Trump virtually all the time. To suggest otherwise is downright silly.
Cruz supports Trump’s policies through voting in Trump’s direction only 92.1% percent of the time, overall.
Cruz voted against Trump on May 23, 2019 for providing additional money to Peurto Rico for disaster aid. Look at where PR is now. Trump opposed.
Cruz, on July 11, 2018, voted against Trump on a nonbinding motion calling for the approval of national-security tariffs. Trump opposed.
March 23, 2018 Trump supported the 2018 Fiscal year appropriations bill. Cruz voted no.
Feb 15, 2018 Trump supported the WH immigration proposal. Cruz voted no.
Dec 7, 2017 Trump supported a 2 week extension of government funding. Cruz voted no.
Jul 27, 2017. Trump opposed sanctions on Russia, NK, and Iran. Cruz voted yes.
Jun 24, 2017 Trump opposed sanctions on Russia. Cruz voted yes.
May 4, 2017. Trump supported the 2017 appropriations bill. Cruz voted no.
Lyin’ Ted. Fox news was mostly anti-Trump right into the election.
Sounds as if Cruz has been on the side of fiscal sanity more than Trump! This latest deal sells our posterity right down the river. Disgraceful and suicidal “deal”.
