Hello again, old friend. What you're looking at is the Harley-Davidson LiveWire, a very different bike from a very traditional motorcycle company. It's Harley's first EV, and the first EV from what I would consider a major, mainstream motorcycle company. At $29,799, it's also one of the most expensive. I was lucky to ride a prototype of this bike way back in 2014, and while I'm not entirely sure what's taken so long to bring it to production, I'm very glad to say that this thing was worth the wait.

Vroom motors
We put baseball cards in the spokes.
American Kids, ever inventive!
such illigetimate rationalization is just ridiculous
Here is a video with 10 bikes available this year.
The Harley is one of them.

Not even the one in the device you just typed on?
LOL...OK.
Nope, Nope and Nope...
Excellent point.
Those small bikes get like 100 mpg. Can be heard. Last a long time.
I’m with you.
Can they at least anoint the thing with high test so it will at least SMELL like a Hapley?
93FXR here.
No “Harley” sound?
I wouldn’t touch this with a 10 ft poll even if it cost $10,000 less’
The SoyBoys.
Mama’s Basement BadBoys.
PajamaBoy wants one with training wheels.
Interesting, I’d take a test ride, but price, range, recharge time all say it’s to give the Tesla crowd something to talk about after Elon goes to jail.
Never - got no range anyway
LOL, a $30,000 bike in Indonesia, Burma, India?
Yeah, that’ll work.
Harley Davidson is a dead company walking. Nobody but old people wants those inefficient noise turds.
I ride a bike to work most days during the nice weather.
100 miles would be fine. My days of 600 mile a day rides have gone the way of the Obama administration.
To each his own. In 5 years that will be tripled, I bet. But those batteries are expensive and not very environmentally friendly.
I wonder how many of these electric motors are “upgradeable” either by software or new battery tech?
Time for a few beers—but too long to get away from a rumble with other gangs.
I can just see Sons of Anarachy trying to get away on their wind powered hogs.
“LOL, a $30,000 bike in Indonesia, Burma, India?”
Yeah, when the rural areas are lucky if even 25% have elec power.
It’s for the bar hopping crowd. A normal day on the bike is almost always two to ten times the range of the electric bikes. So... It’s a bike for posers who want to show off.
The HD Electra-Glide (FL) models are fabulous motorcycles. They are beautiful, powerful and reliable. They have the storage you need for touring. They get over 40mpg at 75mph. The Japanese and Germans have competed well with Goldwings and big Beemers, but for US roads, the Electra-Glide rules.
The electric bike is for the aging squids who now have enough money to waste on novelty items. Until the range triples and the price gets under $15,000 (maybe lower), the electric HD is just a novelty for posers.
A road captain’s nightmare. It would have to have it’s own “chase” truck, preferably a cargo van.
OK,OK....... I understand the sentiment
However in 2018 I had a major mind change. I bought a 20 volt 3/8” capacity battery operated drill/driver. I had resisted because of lack of power. The 20 volt B&D drill has lots of power and for me, stamina. The battery has never in my use run down. Charging is very easy. Compared to a very old B&D baattery driver, it is a very signifivant improvement.
I got fed up with two cycle engines that do not work when neeed. They require too much attention and suddenly just don’t work. That then requires a level of attention I can do with out. A Troybuilt high dollar weed eater was just a joke. I got to the point that by the time I got the engine started, I was worn out.
I bought a battery operated weed eater from Home Depot. They have an extensive line of battery lawn care products. The weed eater has plenty of power for tought jobs. It does in fact wear out. It gets hot and quits. For me, that is ok becuse by the time it gets Hot, I am tired. I let it rest and then go at it some more.
I was so pleased with the battery string trimmer I abandoned my Briggs lawnmower that wore me out pulling the cord. I bought the 56 volt battery operated lawn mower. It works very well, is ergonomically designed and mowed my whole yard with out over heating or needing recharging
My testimony: It ain’t your gran daddy’s oldsmobile
