A former East Tennessee State University student who police said disrupted an on-campus Black Lives Matter rally while wearing a gorilla mask and dangling bananas on ropes was cleared of most charges Wednesday.
A jury found Tristan Rettke guilty of one misdemeanor count of disrupting a meeting, and not guilty of two counts each of civil rights intimidation and disorderly conduct, according to NBC affiliate WCYB. The jury recommended a $500 fine.
Rettke was arrested for attending the Sept. 28, 2016 protest on ETSU's Johnson City campus while barefoot, dressed in overalls, wearing a gorilla mask and dangling bananas tied with rope.
Witnesses who had been participants in the rally testified that Rettke used racial slurs, intimidated them and made them fearful, according to the station.

A whopping 4 people in a photo, and we’ve got a Supreme Court Case, folks!
Wasnt W a primate?
At least he didn’t dress as Guitarzan.
It took three years for this nonsense to clear court?
Beigns with the "Tristan Chord," the chord that destroyed Western Civilization.
You can google it!
“Who names a guy, Tristan?”
An opera composer named Wagner?
Dangling bananas is covered under the 1st Amendment. The fascists who prosecuted the case should be charged with state terrorism and civil rights violations.

There is a negated “equal” sign underneath which means “Just because we’re saying ‘black lives matter’ is not the same thing as ‘all lives do not matter.’”
Beat me to it.
Id settle for laying a Brown Note on these degenerates

A white guy in a gorilla mask is charged but racist members of Only Black Lives Matter are not charged?
A clear case of black privilege.
Give the guy a medal.
I don’t see what he did that was illegal.
