Today’s Cryptogram

MCYALQND WQN YDDPMNDS WDL APGN EXRSYMN, KCYAN OPRS PZ XR WQN KYMVNL WDL DWSXQWAAF IQNZNQ ONQMF. –U.V. MCNRSNQSPD

Today’s CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Though true, that one is a bit heavy.

Two hours. I stumbled around with the three letter words, then moved on to substituting most often letters into the highest count ones. I eventually figured out "DWSXQWAAF" and the rest flowed from there.

About a minute. I got the first word and the rest opened up.

Thanks.

I started doing these about a month ago. Seems to be a good exercise for us old folks.

I get about 80%, but sometimes need the hints.

Today, I think the hint (same author as on Jly 7) was a little TMI.
