A woman working at Subway says she was punched by an irate customer after he became enraged when she verified that his money was not counterfeit. Now Charlotte, North Carolina, police are searching for the man who attacked the local college student.
Haven Neal, a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, told WSOC-TV that the interaction on Sunday was standard right until the moment the man went to pay.
“I made the sandwich. Everything was fine, no problems, and then we got to the end,” she told the news station.
According to Neal, when the male customer handed her his money, she verified it was not counterfeit, which is standard practice for larger bills in many restaurants and stores.
“And when I scanned it, he got upset I thought his money was fake," she said. “I just proceeded to hand him his change. He threw it on the counter, asked me to pick it up and hand it back to him.”
Neal said the man spat on the counter. As the college student tried to sanitize the counter, the man came back and punched her in the face, knocking her out.
Neal suffered a cracked tooth and damaged several nerves, and she had to be taken to the hospital for stitches, WSOC-TV reported. She also suffered a chest contusion from falling over when she was hit.

‘Neal says she knew something about the man was strange.
‘”A little off, maybe on drugs or something,” she said.
‘Police are still looking for the man, described as having a muscular build and a gap in his teeth. He’s thought to be in his mid-twenties. There is security video of the assault but it’s not clear if police were given that video by Subway.’
In this Fox News version, he may have punched her for a different reason regarding trying to flirt with her.
“Police are currently searching for the man based on video surveillance footage. Officials did not reveal whether he had been identified as Friday.
Co-workers, meanwhile, say the man may have been trying to flirt with Neal before he turned violent.
“I never really engage back with that, but I didn’t expect him to punch me in the face for it,” she told Fox 46.”

If the perp is white, the reason is always assumed to be meth or booze.
If the perp is black it’s because his skin is black.
I can understand it if you’re paying for a small item with a large bill. One time, some jackwad in a Manhattan Starbucks decided to verify the $5 bill I gave him for a $2 purchase. So, I made a little show out of checking each single he gave me back to make absolutely sure it wasn’t fake. Got a good laugh at the guy’s expense from the other customers and made my point without violence.

This business of going to exotic locations for weddings and expecting all of the guests to come and pay their own way, is, in my opinion, rather ridiculous.
I’ve also noticed the new phenomenon of renting extremely expensive venues and caterers and entertainers plus an exotic honeymoon locale for weddings. Times were simpler 31 years ago when I was married in a small church with a potluck reception, plus mints, nuts and punch.... then a trip to the gulf coast beach for the honeymoon.

Sure does. The article mentions nothing about witnesses at subway, no video, etc.
No doubt a drugged and brainwashed Millennial unwilling to assess people by their appearance.
Where I am now and when I was at Plant City, FL they checked everything over a five, I believe. I can’t recall them checking a five, but they have checked 10s and 20s.
