Today’s Cryptogram

KU YCTM IZKBUXK YCGOCSKZJW ZR OZHC CTKZJW IZKBUXK MZWCRKZJW. ---CMAXJM QXYHC

Today’s CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Solution to our last puzzle:

HAPPINESS IS HAVING A LARGE, LOVING, CARING, CLOSE-KNIT FAMILY---IN ANOTHER CITY. ---GEORGE BURNS

Double entrendre`?

He had no way of knowing the effect movies, TV and internet-etal, would have on reading.

Shame those that don’t read will never realize the ‘thrill’ of building forts & castles etc in your mind as you are turning the pages....

Or something like that....<: <: <:

Also very few books can make ‘good’ movies as they can’t truly capture the authors intent or even keep up with the written word.

Took a shot at the first word, which gave me enough to figure out the repeated word....

People’s imaginations are dying, it seems like, because they watch rather than read.

Pretty good one, 5 minutes. It is also sometimes how I feel after doing a lot of cryptograms, wondering if I’m putting the puzzle aspect ahead of learning the message.

Several hours. I stumbled around a bit with the two letter words, but then took a different approach. I then started substituting the most common letters into the highest frequency ones until I figured out the third word. Then I continued until I got the name. The rest then opened up.

I don’t know how but I stumbled on words 5 and 6 pretty quick and it fell together after that. About 3 minutes.

Needed to start over several times, until I was more lucky.
