Halep is a racist!
Stephen A. Smith must be on a suicide watch.
;)
6-2 in straight sets, thats a solid romping... the era of the Williams sisters is coming to an end..
Serena WAS very gracious in defeat. Well done. Such a difference from the disaster of the womens soccer team.
Simona played awesome. A great, but fast, game. Serena, as usual when she loses, was gracious in acknowledging Simona outplayed her.
The Williams Sisters took the grace and agility out of Women's Tennis and replaced it with a technique that requires raw power and now defines the sport.
The trophy presentation to Halep and her speech was inspiring. She thanked her family, her team and thanked her COUNTRY (Romania) for all they have done for her and their support. IT WAS A MAGIC MOMENT.
I wonder what Obama’s husband Michael thinks about such obvious racism.
When do the excuses begin?
Way to go Halep!
Boo hoo for Williams.
This is shaping up to be a good news day!
Serena Williams is an incredible champion. Remarkable athlete. Best female tennis player of her era, and arguably the best of all time.
But Father Time is undefeated.
Yay!
That’s one American who deserves to lose.
A few years ago, our youngest son took the opportunity to work at the Western Southern Open in Mason, Ohio (Cincy area). Serena was there, of course, and as in usual form...treated my son and other workers/volunteers there, horribly. She violated a few of the rules and regulations...thinking that she was above all that! One of the things she did was that she forgot to bring her Players Card. My son and another worker told her she was not allowed in without it, and she called them every name in the book. She kept saying things like Dont you know who I AM, etc., etc. She was ticked beyond belief...but she was fined. As I said, she really treated my son and the others horribly. On the other hand, my son and Roger Federer hung out together for awhile, and my son told my husband and I that Federer was as down to earth and as nice as could be. Anyway, perhaps you can understand why I am not one bit sorry she lost today.
59 minutes of pure unadulterated pleasure...
