The last time I saw it was on a 21" Zenith TV with vacuum tubes throughout.
Be seeing you! ;-)
DEFINITELY not to be missed!
hope this will include the full series, tho?
Seemed like a pleasant enough retirement community.
I’ve been binge watching the Sandbaggers on YouTube. Unfortunately there’s only 3 seasons because the writer of the series disappeared while flying off the coast of Alaska! Brit TV at its best!
Right now I an rewatching Person of Interest. I didn't remember the pilot where Finch mentions FISA. The "machine" collected everything.
To my mind, this has never been topped as an intellectual tour-de-force! Wonderful.
My philosophy teacher borrowed my VHS copy and taped over it with Fawlty Towers.
I could never figure it out......It was just weird.
I liked both series - “Secret Agent” and “The Prisoner”. Both very clever.
My kids gave me DVDs of first 2 or 4 episodes. They knew that I loved that Program and that was years ago.
Possibly the greatest TV series ever.
Then, The Matrix came along.
Only the technology is dated. The attitude of absolute control of a population through it certainly isn't. We're living that part.

The best part about the show is that it means what you want it to. In one of the last interviews McGoohan gave they asked him about the proliferation of stories on the internet of people claiming to have run into him and talked about their theory of The Prisoner and he said they were right. Many of these theories are quite contradictory, so the interviewer asked if these tales were largely fiction. McGoohan said he couldn’t say on a case by case but it did happen often. He then went on to say his goal of the show was to make people think, engage their mind and come up with their own interpretation, so as far as he was concerned anybody that did that was right, whether or not their explanation bore any resemblance to what he had in mind while making the show. They did what he hoped they’d do, and therefore good on them. And no he never fessed up to what he had in mind. Took it to the grave. I’m in the Six is Drake camp.
Early 80s, before video stores were common, the public library had some weird VHS tapes you could check out, like PBS specials, some old movies, Monty Pythons Flying Circus, and The Prisoner.
I guess it was cultural, I was hooked at once.
Same with The Avengers. We’re needed, Mrs. Peel...
If you let Amazon or Apple into your house, you are crazy.
I am not a number, I am a free man!
Thanks for posting...looks interesting. I switched over to my Apple TV streamer to check and Amazon Prime has Season 1 listed for free. Added it to my watch list. Thanks again, there are so many poor or , at best, mediocre series being produced now.
Why did you resign?!?!?
