not even if they throw in a case of New Coke?
Will they have. Loud speakers mounted to annoy the neighbors in order to save lives. The whole loud pipes saves lives was an idiot marketing campaign that idiots believed. Speed, agility, maneuverability saves lives. None of which a Harley has. $25k-$35k for a POS bicycle is stupid on display. If you want a loud overpriced touring motorcycle thats fine but dont claim its a virtue of some sort. Own ir for what it is. I have an over priced zero turn lawn mower because I wanted it. Thats ok. I dont claim it saves my life and cures cancer.
Lol cream of the crop? I think not.
a top 20 episode.
He’s obviously not a Harley rider, but that’s okay. It’s not for everyone. No amount of argument will make a non Harley rider love them. You either get it, or you don’t. I would disagree with him on two points. One, speed does not make a bike safer. Most single vehicle accidents (motorcycle accidents) are due to excessive speed. Two, loud pipes most assuredly save lives. Personally, in the first 500 miles on my Harley I had three incidents of people coming out in front of me. I put moderately loud slip on mufflers on, and in the subsequent 7000 miles not one incident. So in my experience, loud pipes get attention. Sorry if that offends people, I’ll put the stock mufflers back on just as soon as drivers start paying attention and stop trying to kill us.
I’ve rode a lot of bikes. I like a lot of bikes. However, all around best bikes out there, Harley. Hands down. No contest.
ha!
Pretty sure not with even with a case of New Coke, an additional case of Coke Throwback and a final one of Crystal Pepsi.
Among other reasons, cop cars are now coming with decibel meters. The cop car itself tells the cops when loud exhausts are near, and loud exhausts are nice big tickets in many places, to the point where in extreme cases, the cops get to seize the vehicle and auction it off.
Physics disagrees with you about loud pipes saving lives.
The younger generation has been buying Asian bikes since the 1960s.
I bet the first option is the speakers that simulate a real engine.
And i suspect most woman will ignore it....unless it has...
You know, vibrations....
Check out the new Kawi H2s on YouTube outrunning the cops...
I guess if loud noise doesn’t attract attention then we can save some coin by no longer putting sirens on emergency vehicles.
Gonna be a few folks splattered all over the place - how many riders can handle that sort of acceleration on 2 wheels?
Sales on the LiveWire will be at the novelty level, and never more. Too expensive for any large market. Riding a silent and silky-smooth bike is counter-culture to the vast majority of Harley riders.
Me? Been riding Harleys for 55 years, have 2 knock-out Harley’s now, one a CVO Road Glide I love - tho when younger I said “I’ll never get a bagger...” I’ve owned 3 nice Harley’s at once, have 6 bikes. I know Harley’s & I know the culture intimately....been a HOG member for years....
Harley’s predicted demise won’t happen. Decline? Yeah - it is happening.
I just purchased my first-ever new motorcycle: a Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster and could write a book on why. I have 3 classic/collector Triumph’s that all look and run like new that I’ve had for years. Harley does not make a bike anything like the Speedmaster (or Bobber which my daughter has). Triumph is knocking the ball out of the park these days.
PS: the low rumble of the Speedmaster is lower than any Harley - and it’s HP is equivalent to my 110 cu.” Road Glide - with less than 2/3 the weight. And it’s got mid-range torque like a Harley......
If it doesn’t vibrate or make a lot of noise maybe they can still make parts fall off.
GOOGLE SUCKS and they HATE US
LOL
Lots of sucking and hating going on........
