Prepare to meet The Flintstones all over again. Warner Bros. Animation is working with Elizabeth Banks Brownstone Productions on an adult-skewing primetime animated comedy based on the classic cartoon series, TVLines sister publication Variety reports.
Hanna-Barberas original Flintstones which followed the exploits of married cave-people Fred and Wilma Flintstone, along with their friends, offspring and enormous pets aired on ABC from 1960 to 1966 for a total of 166 episodes. It was even the first animated show to be nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys in 1961.
More than 10 follow-up series and spinoffs aired in the following years, including The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show (19711972) and The Flintstone Comedy Show (19811982). Weve also seen the iconic characters reimagined in several live-action movies, with John Goodman and Elizabeth Perkins initially stepping into the roles of Fred and Wilma in 1994.
And this isnt the first time the classic cave-dwelling family has attempted to return to television in recent years. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane was given permission to develop a Flintstones reboot back in 2011, but the project never came to fruition.

You’re right, my bad. The big questions is will Fred and Wilma convert to Islam?
Keep The Great Gazoo, Pebbles and Bam Bam out. Those characters were the jump the shark moment for the show
Please, God NO!
He’s from ‘every scene is better with another Bucket-O-Blood tossed at it!” school of direction. I don’t go to his films anymore.
Ann Margarock will be a tranny
I'm thinking it will involve the Great Gazoo. He'll have other special powers besides just teleportation.
Nothing new out of Follywood, just warmed over hash that was put in the closet decades ago.
Hollyweird has given up on new ideas; just one sequel after another and rebooting to bring old films up to PC and GAYSTAPO standards.
Rosie O’Donnell played Betty Rubble in the movie............
Now she will play Fred. Or maybe Mr. Slate.
Along with Barnie and Betty? Could very well be.
Keep The Great Gazoo, Pebbles and Bam Bam out. Those characters were the jump the shark moment for the show
Interesting enough, i started watching Beverly hillbillies recently. In one of the first episodes Jed Clampett gives Elly-May a great, no nonsense what-fer about why she needs to start dressing like a girl. He explains that even though she can out-shoot, out-run,out-wrassle any boy, God made her as a girl. And she cant change that anymore than a sow can change into a goose.
Back when California was a positive member of the world...
“Ohhhh yeah, an adult flintstones! Finally Fred can get it on with Betty!”
Not how these progressive remakes work. You have to push that envelope farther. Think Fred and Barney doing the Bamm Bamm. Think Mr. Slate seducing young interns. Think Wilma taking it Dino-style.
Illegal alien Neanderthals have invaded Bedrock, and terrorist Cro-Magnans blow up the quarry where Fred & Barney work. Dash Riprock comes out as gay, and Bam Bam has sex reassignment surgery. Dino and Pebbles are recognized as the first inter-species couple, Betty is a streetwalker, and Wilma cooks meth in the bedroom closet. Fred & Barney decide to leave, and they fall off the edge of the Earth.
Rated G
Peebles is transgender. She comes home from boarding school with a double mastectomy and beard.
Will Fred be Black?
I just found out the great Gazoo was Harvey kormann!!!
I always thought so. She was Mary Ann before there was a Gillians Island. And the Veronica to boring Betty.
The F Stones?
