Why did the cops not bother looking in the family's SUV yesterday? Who put the boy in the SUV? The Mother has some big time explaining to do.

So sorry this had to happen to this little one. It was a blazing hot day yesterday in the area.

Yes, there seem to be many missing pieces here. The poor child. I do not think a 2-year-old could get into an SUV without help.

If I had to guess, Mom did some shopping or whatever, the kid fell asleep in the back seat, and she forgot he was in the car.

A 2 yr old can NOT open a door to an SUV and climb in by themselves. When she finally confesses, will she be able to say it was just a Late Post Term Abortion and go home??

Clue in article is found not far from the family home.A 2 year old would not go looking for a car.Who drove it last?

Nothing indicates that the parents did anything wrong here. Surprised that no one thought of looking in parked cars.

The K9s being unable to track the child’s scent suggests the child was carried from the home to the neighbor’s SUV and placed into that vehicle. Who was with the child in the apartment? Answer: His mother.
If we are to believe the two-year-old could open the front door and the door of the SUV from the outside, we should believe the two-year-old could have opened the door of the SUV from the I inside
Methinks the mother needs to retain an attorney.

"The Chief said the SUV, which had dark window tinting and a sunshade up, was parked not far from the Gurung home and that it was owned by a neighbor. The owner of the vehicle found the child as they were getting into it Wednesday "
A terrible tragedy.
I doubt foul play. Kids make up whole role plying game in their heads and act out in play. It is a neighbors vehicle. Kids die in old refrigerator cause their playing and this kid probably locked the doors and couldn't get out. Denton gets pretty hot mid afternoon.

Totally agree. The article says that the family SUV was parked in the back of the complex. After being settled for a nap, he had to get up, go out, find the SUV, open it, climb in (not locked???), and close the door. Story doesnt say If he was strapped in or not. But if he could do all that, why not get back out and go home, too? The moms story doesnt add up, IMO.
Like the OP, I have to wonder where the SUV was when the cops took the call and why wasnt it one of the first places to be searched?

It's not clear in the story that it was the family's SUV.

Yep - no way the 2 year-old made it to the back of the SUV by him, self. Mother (or another family member) decided on a late-term abortion...string the perp up as an example.

Maybe it’s me, but I can’t see how a 2 year could climb into and shut the door of an SUV.
