May 2, 2019 (The Catholic Weekly) – We are living in a unique time in history. Never has politics been so polarised, never has mainstream society come so near to amorality (although Nero’s Rome came close), and never has it been so difficult for a woman to find a good man.
The latter is, I’ll admit, a bold claim but allow me to elaborate.
We constantly bemoan the state of society, the youth, universities, the media, et al, which seem to be collectively falling into ever deeper rabbit holes of noxious regressive ideas, behaviours and policies.
Religious affiliation and church attendance, especially among youth and men in particular, has never been lower. Pornography addiction is a scourge of epidemic proportions among men and even boys as young as 11. Put simply, the world is in a mess.
You’ve heard it all before.
Yet one important side-effect of all this that gets little attention is how tough this new environment has become for women, especially Christian women, to find good husbands. The situation is so dire there is now an emerging trend of women abandoning their faith and religious beliefs for the sake of romantic relationships.
Perhaps this is not considered a particularly serious issue when compared with Brexit, abortion on demand or the erosion of free speech, but I would contend it is every bit as important, if not more so. The future of our society depends on good, solid marriages, families and citizens. We need families to produce educated and informed young men and women who will continue fighting the good fight on all the issues confronting our society.
Yet for someone like me – a 32-year-old single Catholic – the situation looks bleak indeed.

My mom’s biggest hesitation with my dad was that he was a Private Investigator and routinely worked 80-90 hour weeks.
Some women want they guy with the huge income but all the time in the world for them.

She had the goofiest looking glasses, and a horrible perm.
I took a photo of her without the glasses, she took one look and got contacts the next day. I convinced her to get rid of the ugly perm. All of a sudden I had a *LOT* of competition, but the ring was on the finger by then :-)
Her parents were wonderful, missionaries and she was raised on the mission field :-) 30 years later, couldn’t be happier.
Better ZERO.
Same with the men, and hopefully a real Christian might be expecting a fully moral virgin.
If not that, he must accept she is and will remain so until morally acceptable.

Oh yes, thousands of years of pristine history dominated by perfect men in charge. Nothing evil ever happened before ALL women of age were allowed to vote in the USA.
Well?
I just looked this woman up on Facebook.
She has a kid.
So, what has happened is she have birth to Mr. Hunk’s kid and now she wants to settle with Mr. Income and can’t find him because other women married him.
WTF? She wants someone who is “worldly-wise?” That has NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING GODLY!
She wants someone who is good at conning people out of money.

Matriarchy, errr I mean “child support” payments till the child is in young adulthood well past 18 yrs for most blue states
She gets the house, car, kids, he gets the marital debt. She often keeps him from seeing his kids, ESPECIALLY if he decides to “move on.”
All with a wink and nod from “family” court

LOL! Lived with that tactic for decades. It’s commonly used when there’s no logical response, just emotion. Doesn’t work on me anymore.
