Revolting. In at least two senses of the term. This is another example of us losing a critically important battle without even realizing it. What is a military victory without replacement of the defeated country’s governing structure? Here we have a local agency of the state’s governing structure (the city council) refusing to pledge their allegiance to our country. Could sound innocuous enough, as we’re all used to bizarre political temper tantrums, but this is different. Theirs is not a benign decision. By going so far as to claim that the Pledge has been “weaponized”, the council reveals a truth about how it perceives itself: it see’s itself as being at war with an enemy, not identified. We are that enemy.

Makes me wonder exactly what will finally be the last straw. That this crap has gone this far and is this insulting to Americans who loved, fought for, and died for this country is beyond the pale.
