After U.S. women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe declared she's "not going to the f***ing White House" if the team wins the World Cup, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has stepped in to invite the team to tour Congress, according to The Hill.
Ocasio-Cortez extended the invitation after the U.S. women's national team won it's quarterfinals match against France 2-1, with Rapinoe scoring both U.S. goals.
"It may not be the White House, but we'd be happy to welcome @mPinoe & the entire #USWMNT for a tour of the House of Representatives anytime they'd like," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Friday.
Rapinoe replied shortly after, saying "Consider it done."

Your point is spot on, and someone should have the guts to ask her about exactly that. “Why do you refuse to sing the national anthem of a nation that is the most accepting of and safest place to be a gay person in the entire world? Actually the invite went to the women win or lose.
Sweden just beat Germany 2-1.
So Tuesday it’s the US vs England at 3PM ET and Wednesday will be Sweden vs The Netherlands also at 3. These are the top 4 teams. Both losing teams from these games play in the 3rd place game on Saturday at 11AM ET. Sunday the winners have the final, also at 11.

No, President Trump should continue inviting champion sport teams to the White House. Let those who want to attend do so. This says more about President Trump than those who wish to stomp their feet and make a big public display out of declining. Only the liberal base is applauding Rapinoe here. The rest of the country sees her antics as childish and disrespectful.

There were some individuals from championship teams who declined the White House visit while obozo was president. The Ravens center and one of the Boston Bruins. They did not do alternative House visits....

Call me old-fashioned...I like an athlete who tries to be nonpartisan at least while he/she is still playing some sport...
That athlete will visit the White House whether president is Republican or Democrat...Then he/she will meet will both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill.
I support the women’s team, because most of them are representative of all the little girls who play youth soccer and dream of winning a World Cup, scoring the winning goal, hearing the crowd roar. That said, they (the US team members) have a responsibility to those little girls to not taint something pure (athletic competition) with their own personal politics. The reality is that the vast majority of Americans, including President Trump, would have praised Rapinoe very highly for what she’s done for the women’s team, and not cared at all about her sexual orientation. It would never have come up.
The fact is that she has chosen to make her sex life an issue. What exactly is she up in arms about? America is likely the very best nation to be a citizen of if you happen to be gay.

I think both liberals and conservatives had no trouble supporting the women’s national team back in 1999...I am disappointed that the times have changed...In order to support the USWNT now, I have to ignore certain players on the team.
Like Ms. Rapinoe and Ms. Krieger...I don’t like what they are doing. Ms. Rapinoe feels so bad about this country that she wants to protest in any way possible...Ms. Krieger accused President of being a man who cannot tolerate some woman because he cannot grope her...
OK, Ms. Rapinoe made “f_ing White House” comment several months ago...However, Ms. Krieger made her stupid comment last week while she was with the team in France...
I am not so desperate to support the team that I am willing to ignore those two people...
