U.S. adults estimate that nearly one in four Americans (23.6%) are gay or lesbian. Gallup has previously found that Americans have greatly overestimated the U.S. gay population, recording similar average estimates of 24.6% in 2011 and 23.2% in 2015. In each of the three polls in which Gallup has asked this question, a majority of Americans estimated this population to be 20% or greater.

I often ask millennials what they “think” the percentage of blacks are of the US population. I have NEVER gotten a response lower than 35%! I have heard as high as 50%. Try it.
When I tell them less than 13% they are shocked.
The main reason for the massive divergence from reality is not LGBT’s outsized visibility; it is a reason, but not the main reason. The main reason is the average American’s inability to understand simple mathematics and percentages. These respondents simply don’t understand that 25% means 1 in 4. Ironically I have a real-world example of this. Some time ago, a friend relayed a story that he asked a co-worker what they thought the % of LGBT was in the US and they said 25%. He said, “You think 1 in 4 Americans is LGBT?” The person paused looking confused and said, “Well, no, not that many.”
In fact, there’s even evidence that mathematical ignorance is the main factor within the linked article by Gallup. In 2002, some 17 years ago, a similar poll was taken, and the mean % estimated by the respondents was 21.5%, again massively overestimating the real % of self-identifying LGBT. In 2002, the outsized visibility of LGBT was not nearly what it is now. Things have changed a lot in a very short time. This indicates that it is actually a fundamental misunderstanding of mathematical percentages that is the real factor driving this skewed view.

The Hollywood prejudice gets even more interesting when you compare lighter-skinned blacks vs darker-skinned blacks in movies, on TV, or in commercials.
The lighter-skinned blacks are vastly over-represented.

If you watch House Hunters, it is obvious that a third of the Population is Gay and they are also very well off Financially.
I’m the guy who always seems to fall back on “love the sinner, hate the sin”, and I try to live up to that every waking moment… but I have to admit that I’m intrigued by the LBTGQPxyx phenomenon.
I have a niece who became a tranny guy, I have a nephew who is married to his (? husband ?), I work with a woman who is married to her (? wife ?) and who also has an adopted daughter? I think.
The niece, I never quite figured out. All of the identifiers are present in the situation. Hormones, appearance, love interests coming and going, no addadicktome yet… I don’t ever see that happening because of money issues that go along with the lifestyle… one suicide threat that I know of. It’s all there just like it was scripted. Oh, and let us not forget the DRAMA!
Now, the nephew and husband are discussing starting and raising a family. They realize that no matter what the advocates say on TV, two guys cannot squirt out a real human child… it requires some form of human female participation. They’ve decided to use a surrogate (and I’m spitballin’ here, but I’m fairly sure it’s a woman of some kind) as a sperm repository. They’ll both contribute their sperm for the project. They figure that way, as long as the woman remains “faithful” to both of them (and why wouldn’t she?), and only accepts their ?combined? donated sperm, that one of them will be the true father of the child they hope to raise providing the plan actually works.
Now, anyone who understands fundamental biology knows that only one of them can be the father, but they’re both willing to suspend the long held notion and reality that the woman’s DNA plays a small part in who this child will become. In their way of thinking, the woman ceases to exist once the child is born, and furthermore that the child is the byproduct of both males; it is theirs. I don’t know what the monetary cost of this project is going to be, I’m just glad I’m not paying for it, or any of the future medical, legal, funerary, etc. expenses that are bound to crop up as a result in the coming years for bypassing the natural order and progression of things.
The woman I work with is a very similar situation. She and her… ? wife ? are by her version of the story, going to pay upwards of $10G for a single sperm injection that has been purified, ala “Demolition Man’s” procreation process so eloquently delivered by Officer Lanina Huxley… they know they have chosen the race, creed, color, eye and hair colors, probably political affiliations, etc. of the sperm donor up front. I wouldn’t be surprised if they can choose what sex, meaning xx or xy chromosomes that the lump of tissue will be born as…? Then she says, if the expenditure and procedure doesn’t pan out, they’re SOL and will not be refunded their $10G. It would just be their tough luck.
She said that none of that matters when you really want a child as badly as they do. They’d continue to save up and pay until that magical moment of conception occurs and they produce “their” child. Once again, I’m reasonably… no… I’m absolutely sure that a suspension of disbelief and reality will occur here too, meaning that the man who produced the sperm will cease to exist as far as they are concerned. It was all I could do to bite my tongue to keep from suggesting a much cheaper and easier alternative way to get one of them inseminated.
I don’t know, color me skeptical here… I mean, I grew up on a farm, watched all variety of animals being born, I studied biology in both high school and college really hard and made really good grades in both. Hell, I’ve fathered two children, and there’s absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind who knows me and them that could ever argue otherwise that I’m their daddy! I thought I understood human relations and how if folks aren’t careful, those relations could lead to reproduction, but now I’m not so sure anymore.
How in the hell did we get to this point in humanity? What the hell is wrong with all of these people? It’s like when I’m talking to my hardheaded grandsons… Is it my sudden inability to speak clear, concise, coherent ENGLISH to them? Or are they just being willfully stupid?
Sheesh! I just don’t know anymore.
A few are and the transgender thing is now threatening to topple feminism and women as distinct. I am ok with that since they are falling victim to their own outlandish impulses that have undermined what it means to be men and disrupted and corrupted some meaningful traditions.

Yes, I always point that out to my Asian wife and kids.... they see it more clearly than the rest of the USA because they on spent 5 years in the USA before their 18th Birthdays, as I working in Korea, Japan, The Netherlands, Belgium, Israel, Hong Kong, Guyana and Rio de Janeiro. They grew up with Americans and not racially charged constituents of culture. My kids have had a hard time the past 10 years with the double standards and think it’s funny Hollywood doesn’t like real “blacks”. In most commercials you get those multiracial blacks as youth and tend to get real blacks as older representations, a token Asian, Hispanic and a white.... Depending on the product you come full circle to Gillette.
I hear where you are coming from, but I had two of three daughters who were pretty good in sports. I wouldn’t have wanted them competing with a poser with a dick.
This is why LGBT activists must use judicial tyranny to establish constitutionally nonexistent, politically correct gay “rights” for minority LGBT people.

You’re upset, so everyone else has to do what you want. If they don’t, they’re evil meanies and you can scream and hurt them. That’s emotional blackmail.
The more upset or emotional you are, the more moral authority you have. This incentivizes tantrums and fake outrage. This is the logical result of “follow your heart to find what is true” and “feels determine what is moral”.
“But I didn’t HIT you.” Hours of name calling, shoving, blocking aren’t violence, but the moment you push to get past to a door or knock the air horn out of their hand, they start recording your anger and your blows. They lie to the audience by not showing the deliberate antagonism before. They are the aggressors and hide it, then post the content that makes them look like the victims, using said victimhood to trigger a liberal mob against the target.
It is like the woman intentionally antagonizing the man in a dozen little ways, and if he pushes her, she calls the cops and he’s arrested. If she hit him several times and he hits back, he’s punished over her. Her equal violence doesn’t count.
Liberals escalated things by saying your words are violence, so they justify death threats and literal violence. They’re appropriating Islam here. Islam equates public fitna or unbelief with an attack on all believers. Refusing to obey the dress code, publicly wearing symbols of a contrary faith, criticizing Islam, all lead to beatings and murder because the mob has permission. Your words are violence, your contrarian existence is an assault on us all.
It only stands to reason that if half of Democrats are LGBTIQ and half od Americans are Democrats, then one-quarter of Americans are mentally ill.

I'm not sure you can assume a normal distribution for intelligence. The median will be at 50%, but if the distribution is skewed by the existence of profoundly stupid people, then it's entirely possible that more than 50% of the population has below average intelligence.
As evidence of this possibility, I submit the last Democratic debate and AOC who by themselves probably lower the mean intelligence of the US at least 1% below the median.

I think IQ is defined so as to follow a normal distribution with 100 as the mean, and when you have a very large sample (i.e. US population) these tend to be normal in distribution anyway.
