Just as they are building a new software Development center.
But:
Jony Ive to form independent design company with Apple as client
Maybe he couldn’t fix the keyboard troubles
Is it Jony or Johnny or something in between?
Even Dieter Rams had to lean Braun eventually.
Goodness knows Apple has been milking the same look for 19 years at this point.
Given the lack of any real design innovation from Apple for the past few years, methinks Jony left the building quite a while ago.
(And all I use is Apple, so I’m not knocking - just hoping that they get off their butts and creating something interesting again.)
Jobs set them up pretty nicely for a long run.
Maybe Ives is moving on because he feels that Apple now has their best days behind them.

I like the skeuomorphic look in icons and interface, and Ive dumped it in favor of the Romper Room scheme we have now.
I guess they told Jony to get the “h” out of there and the rest of him went with it.
Moved on from Apple too.
IPhones where a great innovation - 10 years ago.
Loved my Quadra back in the day and my
G3 Blueberry ibook.
Adopting USB was a real innovation.
Lots of great firsts over the years.
There are just lots of other choices.
