I didn’t even mention the polenta stick.
A thick wooden spoon for mixing corn meal.
Your first and only warning was when she would go over to the drawer wherein lay the dreaded polenta stick, and shake the drawer by the handle.
If you didn’t behave after that, there was no second warning.
If the stick came out of its hallowed resting place, it was going to be used by her.
No avenue of appeal available.
It was even known to be used as a primitive airborne heat seeking missile if you tried to outrun her.
Don’t ask me how I know this.......
