I was recently given 2 orchids. One by my son for mothers day and one from our friend for a belated 60th anniversary. I went on You Tube to learn about them. So far so good, but like I said I usually end up killing house plants, because I don’t take care of them. I just forget. :-(

I had an orchid that did well for a couple of years, then it died.

My current collection are easy to handle. majority need water once every 3 weeks. I use Moisture meter to check whether soil is dry. Over watering kills plant.

I check pest issue before buying plants. Lowes, Walmart carries under $3 exotic highly popular plants. I check store inventory on Thursday evening when new inventory comes.

My other house loved African Violets. My kitchen window was perfect for them. I might try hanging one from the rafter on the cat porch and see how it does. My Sammy is a rascal around plants. That's another reason why I insisted with my porch builder..I wanted rafters on the porch.

Lot of people are selling plants through Etsy. Its big business now. College students are big in plants trading.

Last week bought damaged pot of Philodendron plant from Walmart , cost me $2.49. That small pot actually contains three rare very expensive variety. That was my jackpot. Now I am taking care of that pot. All three varieties will survive. If I had bought them separately from online shops or Nurseries, it would have cost me $50+. Even local nurseries don’t carry these varieties. People buy them online.

My grandparents lived in San Leandro and had a huge corner lot, during the depression and war. My grandfather took the ferry every day to San Francisco to work for Dole Pineapple, a manager at the pier. My grandmother built up a huge nursery business at home, had a greenhouse and outdoor plants. When my grandfather retired, they sold that nursery and were able to purchase a good sized ranch between Pleasanton and Livermore, with vineyards and sheep. So plants is a very good business.

You did hit the jack pot. I buy from Etsy quite often. I bought a Shamrock February and it was not only pretty but it had pretty blooms.

I might have bought mine at Kroger after St.Patricks Day.

Love all of your plants, Jenny!

Thanks for posting pics of Jenny’s varieties.

I love your new plantcat, Rusty!

At my last hair appointment, my stylist had a money tree plant, at her station. I’ve been on the lookout for one, ever since.

If a customer complained about police presence to me, I would politely suggest the customer move, not the police. Stupid barista.

True, plants are good business and its expanding quite fast. My advice start slow with small rare plants and propagate.

Plants are expensive, some buy one plant as a group and spit plant at home. Always look for plant babies.

Raven(black) ZZ plant, starts from $75. I have green ZZ plant.
